LEARNING SYSTEM TRANSITION
Workday Learning is Live!
Coworkers,
Franciscan is pleased to announce that we have transitioned to our new learning management system, and you can experience yourself the modern look and features of Workday Learning!
Now coworkers can view education assignments and opportunities in the same Workday application you already use to access your paycheck, benefit enrollments, and Workday inbox tasks!
Thank you to all the team members who dedicated much time, talent, and effort to help transition from Learning Compass to the new Workday Learning application.
Accessing Workday Learning
Coworkers have multiple options:
-
Recommended: Visit Workday, click the upper left menu, and look for the “Learning” app under the "Personal" section. Don't see it? View the steps to add: article and video.
-
Quick tip: In Workday, use the top search field, type “learning” and select the learning task to go to the Learning home.
-
Convenience: Look for tiles and quick links on the homepages of the FRANC intranet or MyFranciscan Service Center. Don’t see the link to Workday Learning? Refresh your browser.
- These links go to a page where user selects Workday Learning for EMPLOYEES (and HealthTrust workers) or Workday Learning for NON-EMPLOYEES.
-
Still to come: We’ll be updating links on the external Franciscan Health website and some “education” short links that redirect to the learning system.
Using Workday Learning
-
Our team created many helpful resources for coworkers, managers, and non-employees. Check out the list.
-
Where to start? Need a refresher? Take a walk through Workday Learning Navigation: article and video.
Features
- Improved look, feel, and navigation.
- "Required for You" section displays when you have education assigned to you.
- Browse learning topics and explore a growing catalog of learning opportunities that pique your interest or help boost your skills and development.
- Much more!
Important to Know
-
Required courses that were in progress or assigned and not started in Learning Compass will be moved over into Workday Learning through April 4.
-
Learning Compass transcripts (completed course history) will become available in Workday Learning through April 4.
- The entire transcript will be pulled over for active coworkers. In addition, we will bring transcripts for separated coworkers who have left since April 1, 2024. Note: We will also have a historical archive of transcripts, separate from Workday; we are in the process of determining access for compliance.
-
Under the Links section, My Transcripts shows Workday courses that are Not Started, In Progress, and Learning History (completed).
-
For a complete list of courses completed in Workday and Learning Compass, look under the Links section later this week for the report HRRPT0311_LRN...Transcript. The information in the report updates nightly.
-
Calendar invites from Learning Compass will still show up on coworkers’ Outlook calendars. If people are enrolled in the same course in Workday Learning, they will receive a second invite. If coworkers have questions or concerns, they should reach out to their local educator or the instructor of the course.
Non-employees
- HealthTrust workers will access Workday Learning using the same links as Franciscan coworkers.
-
Leaders of other non-employees were sent communication to share with their non-employees. Most non-employees will receive security emails sent April 1-2 from Workday with their access information. The Non-Employee Workday Learning Transition Guide provides details.
Support
Like any big technology transition, we know it can take a little time to get familiar with the new system, and there can be some issues as well. We have support and resources to help.
