A New Way of Doing Business – BNCC Your Business Advocates

Future plans include a web page dedicated to all things workforce.
As the largest business organization in Nelson County, the Chamber looks to not only sustain the business climate; but to improve and secure a thriving future.

Samantha Brady, previous Executive Director stated “In order to continue the growth and success of our community, the Bardstown Nelson Chamber of Commerce has identified that one thing is clear; we must have a workforce and create a pipeline for our growing needs.”

BNCC is happy to report that there are so many really amazing programs the schools systems, ATC and the businesses community are doing with internships, externships, work base learning and apprenticeships. BNCC recognized that by connecting and working together we could take all these projects to the next level with one common goal, a future workforce.

Talent Pipeline Management (TPM):

When  Building the Manufacturing Maintenance Pipeline  we have spent the last several meetings exploring how best to develop an effective and quality approach to upskilling our workforce through partnerships with ECTC and regional high schools.

Building the RN and CNA Pipeline  has consisted of completing a talent flow analysis that examines where candidates worked prior to their current role (and what they did there), where they were trained, and how they were recruited. The idea is to better understand where we are getting the best sources of talent currently to build off existing pipelines and identify underutilized sources of talent.

The  Construction Talent Pipeline  has completed demand projections for the future and we are thrilled to report we received a 100% completion rate, which means this collaborative group is all in!

More Collaboratives are being formed and solutions are just around the corner.

Talent Pipeline   Management (TPM) Update

Josh Williams, Talent Pipeline System Leader with the Kentucky Chamber Workforce Center has been working with local businesses and the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce for several months forming collaboratives and collecting data to create workforce solutions.

"With the tight labor market we are experiencing, it's more important than ever for business and education to partner in building the workforce we need for economic growth.

Through TPM, manufacturers in Bardstown have made substantial progress in projecting their need for maintenance technicians and analyzing how they can build a stronger talent pipeline locally. With the added insight that 77% of their best maintenance technicians have a background in manufacturing, they're now exploring how best to up-skill their existing workforce to higher skilled and higher paying positions," says Josh Williams.
