New Loves Travel Stops in Madera
The Business Services Team at the Workforce Development Board of Madera County is currently assisting Loves Travel Stops with their hiring process. Loves' management team has been using the Workforce Assistance Center to interview candidates for the Mechanic and Tire Tech positions.
The Workforce Business Services team have been pre-screening and scheduling candidates for this employer.
Loves will continue working with WDB to recruit all other positions.

Recruitment Event at Workforce Assistance Center
Several businesses are using our facilities to recruit, interview and hire candidates. This is a very convenient service for employers. Using our Center can avoid unwanted foot traffic at your business site. During the past few months the Business Services Team have coordinated various recruitment events at NO COST to employers.

Madera County Unemployment Rate
The unemployment rate in the Madera County was 6.1 percent in November 2019, up from a revised 5.4 percent in October 2019, and unchanged the year-ago estimate of 6.1 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 3.7 percent for California and 3.3 percent for the nation during the same period.  
Top Strategies to Avoid Wage & Hour Violations
  1. Properly classify employees - Exempt or Non-Exempt
  2. Provide required meal and rest periods
  3. Properly record all compensable time
  4. Ensure bonus and commissions plans are in writing
  5. Provide and maintain required uniforms & tools
  6. Pay employees timely at separation
