The Workforce Development Board of Madera County is planning the 2019 Fall Job Fair. The event will take place on October 24, 2019 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Pan-American Community Center, 703 E. Madera County Unemployment Rate
The unemployment rate in Madera County was 7.0 percent in June 2019, up from a revised 6.3 percent in May 2019, and below the year-ago estimate of 7.1 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.1 percent for California and 3.8 percent for the nation during the same period.

Business and Education Shareholders' Luncheon
On August 27, 2019, the Madera County Compact will honor two outstanding businesses, Camarena Health and Kern Family Farm, at the annual Shareholders' Luncheon. The Luncheon will be held at the Madera County Superintendent of Schools Conference Center, 1105 South Madera Avenue, Madera, CA 93637 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Rapid Response Services
If you are reducing the size of your workforce or anticipating a business closure, Rapid Response services can help you meet your business needs while recognizing the needs of your employees.  The Madera County Workforce Assistance Center Rapid Response Team will be responsive to your concerns such as confidentiality, maintaining productivity and transitioning your employees to new jobs or training.  
Our Rapid Response Team can present options and provide assistance to employers who wish to develop lay-off aversion strategies, business retention, recruitment services or link to local economic development activities.
