Workforce Solutions For North Central Texas Receives $40,330 Externship For Teachers Grant
ARLINGTON, TX - In March 2018, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas was awarded a $40,330 Externship for Teachers grant by the Texas Workforce Commission to offer professional development opportunities to educators by connecting their classrooms to the workplace.

Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas, in collaboration with North Central Texas Independent School Districts, will extend these externships to middle and high school educators to provide hands on experiences, expand educators' knowledge on in-demand skill sets and occupations, and provide unique opportunities to engage and inspire students.

Externship assignments will be a minimum of three (3) days and a maximum of five (5) days, during the summer months. These externship assignments will enhance the teachers' ability to connect theory to practice and bring an understanding and increase the applicability of workplace practices into the classroom.

ISDs and employers can apply for the next phase by contacting Althea Chaderton, Workforce Career Pathways Coordinator, at [email protected], 817-608-2332 or complete interest form at
