A Journey Towards Home Ownership: Sarah Hupp's Story
Meet Sarah Hupp, the dedicated mother of two children who attend the Compass Early Learning Center. Like many parents, Sarah dreams of providing her children with a secure and stable future, and she's making incredible progress in her journey of making that a reality. Through her involvement in our Family Resource Center programs, Sarah has opened an Individual Development Account (IDA), a special matched-savings program designed to help families like hers save money for their future. Sarah shared, "The opportunity to save money and have it more than doubled to put toward a car payment or a down payment on a house is something really important to me. I've always wanted to be a homeowner, especially for my kids".
Sarah strives to save for a down payment on a house, learn better budgeting and organizational skills, and create lasting memories that only a forever home can provide. Sarah lived in the same house her entire childhood, and that gave her stability and experiences she wants to share with her children. Throughout Sarah's childhood, she had her height marked and tracked on a wall in her house, and she shared that "I want a home where I can do that for my kids".
Sarah's participation in programs like Your Path and her commitment to her family are great examples of how families can transform their futures.
