Some of those questions could include:
I’ve recently met with my mentor, and I received an answer to my question. Why should I continue to work with them?
It can be helpful to check in and get new ideas for running and growing your business. SCORE can help with every business topic including how to reach new customers and ways to improve cash flow. Don’t wait until you have a problem; instead, proactively work with your mentor to assess opportunities and threats.
My mentor and I aren't a good fit. Why would/should I come back? Do I have to meet with the same mentor?
Our goal is to make the best match when you first request a mentor. However, sometimes it doesn’t work out that way. If you weren’t satisfied with your first mentor, let us know and we can pair you with a mentor who will be a better fit for your business needs.
I have questions outside of my mentor's area of expertise. Does it make sense for me to continue working with them?
Your mentor has access to our SCORE mentor network. If you have a question that is outside their expertise, they can help find a co-mentor who can provide you the assistance you need.
Instead of business advice, I’m looking for funding opportunities and SCORE doesn’t provide that. Why should I work with a mentor?
Even though we don’t provide funding, we can help you prepare applications and business pitches to secure funding. Because we’re deeply rooted in the small business community, we may also be able to connect you with new opportunities for funding such as grants, local bank loans, crowdfunding, and more.
