The Trust Releasing RFP for Signature Event Planning Services Soon

The Children’s Trust seeks to procure the services of one or more event planners to work collaboratively with the Communications Department in providing event planning services for up to two of its signature events: The Children’s Trust Family Expo and the Champions for Children Awards Ceremony. Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), The Trust will select one or more vendors to help plan and execute the events with applicants having the option to apply for one or both events. Start Off Smart's Safe Families Partnership Network (SFPN)

This week, we’re featuring Start Off Smart and its Trust-funded Safe Families Partnership Network (SFPN). SFPN provides care coordination to children and families who are victims of violence. Other risk factors include child abuse or neglect, child chronic absenteeism, and child disruptive behaviors. The SFPN works with high-risk populations of children and youth aged 0-17 and up to 22 if disabled, along with their families and caregivers who reside in the South Dade community. The SFPN provides care coordination, family team conferencing, access to support and family stabilization services, parenting classes, trauma-informed services, and civil and immigration legal services. Miami-Dade County Dept. of Cultural Affairs Community Grants Program *

The Community Grants (CG) Program is responsive on a quarterly basis to nonprofit organizations developing small and large-scale community-based cultural (dance, theater, music, visual arts) programs, as well as projects and events, such as fairs, parades, neighborhood festivals and publications that have a strong artistic component.


The CG panel considers projects with strong community involvement and/or outreach component. The CG Program is particularly sensitive to the needs of indigenous cultural neighborhood activities and projects encouraging the preservation of heritage, traditions and culture, as well as social service organizations and cultural groups developing collaborative intervention projects using the arts. Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Cultural Grants Workshop

Arts groups, cultural organizations, community nonprofit organizations, individual artists and artist collectives are invited to attend these free workshops about Miami-Dade County's cultural grants programs. Municipalities, social service organizations, colleges and universities may also be eligible to apply. Learn how to apply for arts funding and which grants programs may be the right fit for your cultural project. Cultural Affairs staff will provide information about the competitive funding opportunities for nonprofit arts groups and artists as well as other helpful resources available for the cultural community. US Dept. of Justice Grants to Support Youth Success for Youth at Risk *

The U.S. Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention is offering a funding opportunity to assist jurisdictions in planning and assessing promising and evidence-based prevention and intervention services that will inform the development of a community-based continuum of care for youth at risk of becoming involved or are already involved in the juvenile justice system. The long-term goal of this effort is to support sustainable, research-based, and data-informed recidivism-reduction policies, practices, and programming, and the strategic reinvestment of cost savings realized through accompanying reforms into effective prevention and intervention programs for our nation’s youth. United Way Miami Grants for Education and Health & Wellbeing *

United Way Miami is pleased to announce two opportunities for funding in the areas of Education and Health & Wellbeing. The Education RFP is focused on programs working with youth that are involved in the juvenile justice system and other related juvenile diversion systems. Funding is available for up to $153,000 for one fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025. The Health & Wellbeing RFP focuses on programs providing congregate and home delivered meals to the older adult population. Funding is available for up to $135,000 for one fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025. Applications will only be accepted from agencies that have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be categorized as organizations for a charitable cause – most commonly referred to as 501(c)3 organizations. U.S. DOJ Bureau of Justice Assistance Improving Adult/Youth Crisis Stabilization and Community Reentry Program 

The purpose of this program is to support cross-system collaboration between criminal and juvenile justice agencies, mental health and substance use agencies, community-based organizations that provide reentry services, and community-based behavioral health providers. The goal is to improve clinical stabilization pretrial, during confinement, and support continuity of care and recovery during the transition to the community through clinical and other evidence-based activities or services for individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. Project Bridge offers a Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) course to adults interacting with teens or parents of adolescents. The Life Time Kids Run Miami program is entering its 20th year, and the program hopes to welcome students to be a part of the action! The Life Time Kids Run Miami program encourages children and middle school students, ages 6-13, to run 25.2 miles over 15 weeks, culminating at the Life Time Miami Marathon & Half presented by FP Movement (February 2, 2025) with the Final Mile event where all participants will earn their own medal!


Complimentary to Miami-Dade County schools, the Life Time Kids Run Miami program aims to help reduce the health risks and conditions that kids face today by promoting physical education and an active lifestyle through running, and it is their goal to involve as many children as possible from start to finish.

Associate Director - Technology

This position assist in directing the overall leadership, strategy, and management of the Technology Design & Solutions (TDS) initiatives undertaken to support the vision, leadership, and goals of The Children’s Trust. Program Manager

The position manages the full life cycle of assigned funded program(s) and services located throughout Miami-Dade County. This person requires occasional non-traditional work hours (weekends and evenings) and reliable transportation. This professional position will support the Programs Management Team in implementing strategies that foster collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to ensure services are delivered in accordance with The Children’s Trust standards and latest evidence-based practices. Assistant Site Director: Responsible for efficiently and effectively delivering programs and services directly affecting Breakthrough Miami Scholars and families. An ASD oversees campus or site logistics, unpaid student volunteers, and some stipended positions, such as Teaching Fellows. As an ambassador of the program, the ASD builds supportive relationships with students, parents, schools, the community, and other stakeholders to ensure the academic and socio-enrichment success of all Breakthrough Scholars. 


Summer Instructional Coaches: Summer Instructional Coaches (ICs) are experienced and successful professional educators who provide content specific support for BTM Teaching Fellows throughout the summer and engage fully in the BTM community. ICs dictate the level of academic rigor during Breakthrough Miami’s summer program through their interactions with Teaching Fellows. They effectively communicate content specifics to Teaching Fellows, guide Fellows through effective planning and execution, and hold both Fellows and students to the highest standards. ICs are expected to lead department meetings, visit Fellows’ classes at least twice a week, evaluate lesson plans and curriculum overviews, and meet individually with Fellows regarding their on-going work. Since ICs are the only professional teachers on-site, they are accountable for the quality of instruction students receive, and are responsible for supporting BTM Teaching Fellows through their teaching experiences. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.


Summer Site Coordinators: Summer Site Coordinators (SSCs) are critical members of the summer administrative team and help ensure the smooth and safe operations of the Summer Institute at their assigned site. SSCs train, coordinate and oversee volunteers; supervise the summer food service program for Scholars and staff; order and keep an inventory of program supplies; coordinate general office administration; manage the Scholar drop off and pick up process; and assist with the execution of special events. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.


Summer Assistant Site Directors: Summer Assistant Site Directors (SASDs) work collaboratively with full-time directors at their assigned site to ensure a successful Summer Institute; and work closely with Scholars and their families, as well as Teaching Fellows to ensure their needs are met. SASDs assist with the coordination and management of student attendance and reporting; management of student information in the Breakthrough Miami student database; student discipline and conduct; Teaching Fellow training and professional development; implementation of the Teaching Assistant program; preparation of major events, including Visitors Day, Family Night, and other events as scheduled; and program evaluations during the final ten days of programming. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.

Natural Helper

The Natural Helper is responsible for providing assistance to the Families CAN! project by assuming responsibility for obtaining and maintaining programmatic and financial records related to Advocacy Network’s In-Home Supports and Emergency Financial Assistance Programs. This position utilizes their experience as a parent with a child with a disability to support families and assist in their success towards achieving their goals. The Natural Helper/Family Support Specialist supports success coaches working directly with families and assisting in all aspects of referral processes and maintaining family engagement in the care coordination process.  


Training and Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; proficient in Microsoft Office – especially Word, Excel, and Outlook; and a minimum of two years’ experience working in an office setting – preferably in a non-profit. Individual must be very detail oriented, good with numbers, and be able to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) essential. Salary Range $40,000 to $42,000. AND offers 100% employer-paid medical benefits, 12 paid holidays, and generous PTO. Family Support Coordinator

Are you looking for a great place to work and make a difference? The Family Support Coordinator is responsible for the provision of advocacy, support and linkage services to individuals with developmental and other disabilities, their families and care givers as well as professionals and others seeking assistance. Utilizes strength-based strategies to build families’ protective factors.


Training and Experience Requirements: Bachelors in social work or related field. Minimum of 2 years-experience working with families who have children with disabilities and knowledge of local community strongly preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Bilingual English-Creole preferred. Salary Range: $50,000 - $52,000. AND offers 100% employer-paid medical benefits, 12 paid holidays, and generous PTO. Mail resume to email below:
