Personal Journey Collage Workshop
Saturday, July 27, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Bring objects and pictures that speak to you and work with collage artist Marilyn Glass to create your own collage with intuition and self-discovery.
$40 members, $50 non-members, includes materials. Limited space, prepaid registration required.


DIY Ladders Big and Small with Andrea Lilienthal
Saturday, July 27, 2:00 - 4:00 pm
Participate in a temporary outdoor art installation by building a little ladder to echo the oversized, colorful ladders in the Sculpture Garden. Andrea Lilienthal works with Museum visitors to make two ladders: one for home and one to place in the KMA's Sculpture Garden.
$5 material fee. No reservations required. Fun for all ages!

KIDS WORKSHOPS

Tuesdays for Tots 

Tuesdays, July 9, 16, 23, 30, August 6, 1:00 - 2:00 pm
Cutting, mixing, layering, painting, gluing, constructing - what could be more fun for you and your 3 - 5yr old child? Our summer series of Tots classes brings the art of collage to life with a variety of creative art projects with unique and surprising materials.
Pre-paid registration required. Ages 3 - 5 with an adult. Siblings under age 3 are not permitted. $75 members; $100 non-members for 5-week course

 

Summer Art Adventures: Mix it Up! 

Thursdays, July 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8, 10:00am - 2:00 pm   


July 11: Mix it up with FACES
- Create unique portraits that will be displayed in the KMA's fall exhibition, Face to Face: Community Portraits


July 18: Mix it up with PAINT
- Paint, deconstruct, layer, and rework materials as part of this messy day of paint and collage combined.


July 25: Mix it up with FOUND OBJECTS
- Construct a 3-D assemblage using found objects and collected materials.


August 1: Mix it up with FANTASY
- Combine fragments of found images such as maps, old books, and postcards to create your own fantastical world.


August 8: Mix it up with WORDS
- Mix images and words with guest poet Pam Hart.  

  

Pre-paid registration required. Students ages 6 - 12. $50 members, $60 non-members for each class. Discounts provided for multiple workshops or siblings. Please bring lunch!
Summer Saturdays : Farm to Museum
Saturday, July 13, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the KMA

The Katonah Museum of Art & Bedford 2020 invite you to listen to live music, sip wine and munch on hors d'oeuvres while you buy locally-grown produce, fresh-cut flowers, farm eggs, goat cheese, and delicious baked goods at this farm-to museum party. Vendors include: Magic Spoon Sweet and Savory Jams; Kontoulis Family Olive Oil; Tiny Hearts Farm; Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture; Wave Hill Breads; Arattom Cheese (formerly Rainbeau Ridge); and Front Yard Chicken Coops. Shop, eat and socialize all while enjoying the lively French music of Les Tappan Zigues.

For the first time, the KMA and the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts are co-producing lively concerts that brings together musical genres. Pack blankets, chairs, and a picnic dinner and head to the Museum's Sculpture Garden for summer evenings full of great music.

Jazz bassist and composer, Gregg August's sensational rhythms span jazz, Latin, classical and avant-garde music scenes. He is joined by soprano saxophonist, Sam Newsome, and drummer, E. J. Strickland.

August 14 - The Winds of New York      Click here to purchase tickets
Strains of Handel, Beethoven, and Fran�aix float upward through the Sculpture Garden trees, as this classical quartet of flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon plays selections composed or arranged for wind instruments.

$15 members, $20 non-members; admission includes complimentary beer and wine. Become a KMA Member at the door and enter free. Gates open at 6:30 for picnicking, concert starts at 7:00.
