Greetings! November 17, 2022

Rockaway's Newspaper, The Wave, wrote a heartfelt article about the Rockaways and they are the only community in North America to host a World AIDS Day Marathon in North America. Photos of the work my Foundation does in Kenya are included. Read article and understand why the EYES of the WORLD will be on Rockaway's boardwalk on World AIDS Day.

There is no other marathon in North America on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2022, to acknowledge the 40,000,000 people who have died from AIDS. The Event is being presented by Rockaway Business Alliance and timed by Rockaway Track Club. From December 9 - 19 the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation's board members + friends will be traveling to Kisumu, Kenya for our 16th time to sponsor 4 orphan dinner dances for 800 - 1,000 Kenyan orphans + provide medical care, sponsor a concert for special needs kids, and a 5K run in Kenya.

This is the flattest, fastest marathon course and you get to see the ocean the entire time. The marathon is also a Boston Marathon qualifier.

I may not be a brain surgeon or rocket scientist, but one thing I did figure out: if you can help others you feel good and can run more marathons. I just turned 70 and will be running 5 marathons this year and I qualified to run my 2nd Boston Marathon in 2023. Please consider partnering with my Foundation as a runner, sponsor or volunteer. I run marathons to give hope to people living with HIV and brain cancer that living an upbeat lifestyle will help you beat HIV and brain cancer.

Richard Brodsky and Akarsh Lal team up to create this timely video. Richard is a brain cancer survivor and HIV-positive and Akarsh is a recent Biomedical Engineering graduate from University of California, Irvine and he recently was accepted to Wayne State School of Medicine. Richard ran a marathon on April 10, his fastest in the past 20 months. On March 1, six weeks earlier, he had his 2nd Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Says Richard, if I can take the vaccine, and not have any side effects, it is a no-brainer that a lot more Americans should take the vaccine. The video is also a plea for America to share its vaccine with third world countries. There are 30 presenters from diverse backgrounds and their messages are powerful. If this video moves you to share your story, please do, and kindly LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE and SUBSCRIBE to my youtube channel. Thanks to all the presenters + Akarsh for volunteering his time.

Proceeds to benefit St. John's Epsicopal Hospital, Family Health Centers Long Island FQHC and 4 orphan dinner dances in Kenya for 800 - 1,000 Kenyan orphans + providing medical care + a day of music & dancing for special needs kids + a 5K run to honor the memory of everyone who died of AIDS +
a Meet and Greet dinner to thank everyone for their support last year and in 2022. Why did I choose St. John's and LIFQHC? Both are excellent advocates for HIV/AIDS. St. John's is the only hospital on the Rockaway Peninsula. LIFQHC serves poorer communities on Long Island and its Chief medical officer, Dr. Tarika James, a true advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS particpates with her family at my Foundation's 5K AIDS Cancer Run Walk every year. I would also like to say my doctors at Northwell Health have kept me running marathons, but LIFQHC and St. John's clearly need the funding more.
