Southampton Boat Show 2019

 The Southampton Boat Show takes place from 13-22 September in the heart of the city. With lots of attractions at the show including new boat launches and equipment offers, we know many of you will be planning a visit, so here's a round up of World Cruising Club and our partners' activities at the show.

The World Cruising Club team will be available on our stand J176, every day to chat about all areas of ocean sailing and our worldwide events.

World Cruising Club's Ocean Sailing Forum

Harbour Lights Picture House in Ocean Village

This two hour moderated panel discussion, run in association with Yachting World magazine, is designed to be an informative introduction to offshore cruising and will cover topics like preparing your boat, selecting equipment, sail handling, life onboard, crew management, route planning and weather. The panel will be made up of industry experts and experienced cruising sailors, providing a wide range of opinions and experiences.
 
Set to encourage and inspire those thinking about blue water cruising, the Forum will take place a short distance from the Boat Show at the Harbour Lights Picture House in Ocean Village from 10:00-12:00, and a ticket to the show included is the registration fee.

Cruising Portugal Seminar
Find out about ARC Portugal, crossing the Bay of Biscay and cruising the Algarve.

Join us for a special free-to-attend seminar on "Cruising Portugal" to be held at the Southampton Boat Show. 

Those attending the two hour seminar can expect to gain an interesting insight to exploring the Portuguese coast, and be inspired to set sail on their own adventure. Practical weather, training and safety advice will be discussed, particularly for those who may be planning to cross the Bay of Biscay for the first time.

About the Rally
Credited each year with introducing sailors to cruising friends for life, ARC Portugal departs from Plymouth, UK on 31 May 2020 and crosses the Bay of Biscay to Bayona then down the coast of Portugal stopping overnight at Póvoa de Varzim, Figueira da Foz, Peniche/Nazare, Oeiras and Sines, before finishing in Marina de Lagos just over three weeks later.

World ARC Presentation and Lunch
Come and meet the World Cruising Club team for lunch and a chat about the World ARC rally at a special presentation held alongside the Southampton Boat Show.

The presentation will be an opportunity to discuss any aspects of the World ARC face to face, plus meet with other like-minded cruising sailors in a relaxed and friendly environment.
The presentation is free to attend, but spaces are limited, so please do let us know as soon as possible if you would like to join us.

Fischer Panda UK will once again provide visitors with an interactive experience of its complete system capability on its display trailer at this year’s Southampton Boat Show.

The marine generator, electric propulsion, air-conditioning, watermaker, and power monitoring and control supplier is bringing its latest technology and equipment direct to boaters with live demonstrations and the chance to see, hear and operate the products for themselves.
