Happy Summer from Merriam Tourism & Economic Development! The energy across KC is absolutely electric right now — and Merriam is smack in the middle of it all!

Since our last e-news, we welcomed 12 new businesses to our community! Trader Joe's is putting the finishing touches on their new Merriam location — a long-anticipated addition that's sure to bring even more foot traffic and economic activity. And, we're proud to share that the Downtown Merriam Master Plan is officially underway, a community-driven effort to shape the future of Downtown Merriam, and one where your perspective as a local business owner matters.

And then there's this: the Kansas City region is welcoming thousands of international guests this summer for one of the largest sporting events on the planet. While matches and events are happening across the metro, Merriam is ready to shine as a welcoming, and inclusive destination just minutes away! Visitors will be looking for great places to shop, dine, stay, and experience the best of what the region has to offer — and Merriam is exactly that kind of place.

We're proud of the Merriam community, and we want to make sure the world gets to see it. Whether you're a retailer, restaurant, hotel, or service business, you're part of what makes Merriam worth discovering.

This is a summer to celebrate and we're excited for all that's ahead! Connect with us anytime with questions, if you need business assistance, or just to say hi!
