Traveling StoryWalk

The next StoryWalk event is set for 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Bott Park, 24550 W. Ottawa St., in Plainfield. Join the Plainfield Area Public Library for, "Wild Symphony" by Dan Brown with a craft provided by the Park District and a frozen street by the Plainfield Police Department. This is a FREE event. No registration is necessary.

Volleyball Summer Camp

Learn new skills and improve existing ones at summer volleyball camp running 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (grades 3-5) and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. (grades 6-8), July 22-25 at PARC. Program is run by Cyclone Volleyball.

Accessing OSP during construction

In preparation for eastbound Lockport Street being closed to all traffic from IL Route 59 to the CN Railroad crossing near Hartong Street on July 16, please use the routes in the map below to access Ottawa Street Pool, Ottawa Park, Boy Scout Park and/or the Recreation Administration Center.

Pom Camps

Pom Camps for ages 4-6 and 7-9 are running 5-6 and 6:30-7:30 p.m., July 22-25 at the Streams Recreation Center.

Basketball Summer Camp

Learn new skills and improve existing ones in this Monday through Friday camp running July 29-August 2. Players ages 6-14 work on becoming well-rounded by focusing on skills like passing, dribbling and shooting with individual work and mini games.

Cruise to Village Green

Once a month during Cruise Nights, stop by the pavilion at Village Green from 5 to 7 p.m. for special activities, crafts, giveaways and fun! There is no need to register for these FREE events.

Fall Adult Softball Leagues

Registration is now OPEN for our fall adult softball leagues (men's and co-ed). Leagues consist of a 10-game regular season with a single-elimination tournament. Games are Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Four Seasons Park beginning August 14. Captains may register their team, or individuals may register to play on the free agent team (provided enough players register). Registration deadline is August 2.

Jammin' in August

Todd Downing Tall Tales & Silly Songs will entertain the little ones (ages 2-6) for FREE 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., August 9 at Village Green. No registration is necessary. This is a make-up of the Jammin' in June Concert that was cancelled June 25.

The Plainfield Park District, in partnership with the Illinois Park & Recreation Association, has highlighted daily activities designed to encourage people to “unplug” from technology and plug into play, creativity, family and adventure.
