AmeriCorps Senior RSVP Highlight

Volunteer Spotlight:

RSVP has recently partnered with Friends & Company, a 50 year young nonprofit that’s expanding services statewide. If you love to chat on the phone and brighten people’s days, Coffee Talk may be a good volunteer role for you! Coffee Talk is a drop-in phone line that offers older adults an easy and instant way to engage in friendly conversation with one of our Coffee Talker volunteers.

The program runs from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Most volunteers answer between 3-5 calls, varying from 10-20 minutes each during their weekly 4-hour shift. This opportunity takes place at your home and a smartphone is needed to answer calls.

To get involved with this volunteer role or hundreds of others, contact AmeriCorps RSVP at Whitney Senior Center,

Minnesota Orchestra members and pianist Bethel Balge share “Hearth Throbs” program for November 19 Chamber Music Concert

The Chamber Music Society of Saint Cloud season continues on Sunday, November 19, at 4 p.m. presenting a concert by the Balge-Park-Ross Trio. ProMusica Minnesota Artistic Director Bethel Balge and Minnesota Orchestra first associate concertmaster violinist Susie Park and principal cello Anthony Ross will perform a program titled Hearth Throbs at the Ruth Gant Recital Hall on the SCSU campus (620 3rd Avenue South).

Audience members will enjoy a beautiful program by pianist and ProMusica Minnesota Artistic Director Bethel Balge with Susie Park and Tony Ross. Their program begins with Antonin Dvořák’s gorgeous Piano Trio No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 26 and continues with Theme and Seven Variations on “Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen” from Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute” for cello and piano by Beethoven. The tune from Mozart’s opera praises the universal joys of love. Their romantic program closes with Johannes Brahms’ powerful Piano Trio No 3 in C Minor, Op. 101. The program titled Heart Throbs allows all instruments to explore their emotional range and reach for the heart.

Tickets online or at the door. Adults $25 | Seniors (65+) $20 | Students $5 Seating opens at 3:30 p.m. More information is available online at www.chambermusicstcloud.org or call (320) 292-4645.

The concert is co-sponsored by Mary Lou & Jerry Lenz | Molly & Keith Ewing. This activity is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
