Since the first edition, held in 1998 in Naples (Italy), the celebration has gone through distant countries but all of them united by one passion: pasta!

This year we are celebrating World Pasta Day 2017, in São Paulo, Brasil one of the world capitals of gastronomy, events destination, fairs and globally recognized exhibitions.

We will bring together industry leaders and executives, with an exclusive program featuring Brazilian and international speakers - such as food science expert Kantha Shelke and doctor and nutritionist Mauro Fisberg, among many other professionals - who will discuss economic, nutritional and cultural aspects about pasta.

Date: October 25, 2017
Local: FIESP - Federation of Industries of the State of Sao Paulo
Address: Paulista Ave. 1313 - 01418-100 - Sao Paulo-SP - Brasil

This month we are introducing a NEW TED-Ed lesson which explains why pasta does not make you fat.

Research continually confirms that excess calories, and not carbohydrates, are responsible for obesity. No-carb and very low-carb diets are not a long term solution to weight loss, as our bodies rely on carbohydrates to function properly. Plus, pasta is a natural companion for vegetables, legumes, lean proteins, and other nutritious foods that promote a healthy weight. Learn why pasta does not make you fat in our new TED-Ed video.

After you view the video, test your knowledge with our TED-Ed lesson.
