July 1st marks the beginning of a new fiscal year for Worldwide Books, and we will be conducting our annual inventory on July 2nd and 3rd. While our staff diligently takes stock of all of the exhibition catalogues and books in our warehouse (nearly 65,000 volumes, representing more than 35,000 individual titles), business as usual will be suspended, and no approval-plan shipments or firm orders will be invoiced. However, customers may still submit orders through regular channels (e-mail, website, telephone, fax or mail), and all orders will be processed promptly. E-mail and voicemail will be monitored throughout the inventory period, and we will respond immediately to urgent inquiries. Please note that we will also be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day. We apologize for any inconvenience.
In light of the impending transfer of ownership of Worldwide Books and the upcoming inventory, the official start of the Summer Sale, previously announced for early June, has been postponed until July 10th. However, subscribers to this newsletter continue to have the special privilege of selecting and purchasing sale items at the discounted price in advance of the sale. More details regarding the Summer Sale can be found in this newsletter (see below).

Would you like to receive occasional email alerts about new and noteworthy publications that may not be suitable for automatic inclusion in our approval plan program due to subject matter, special format, limited availability or price, but that may still be of interest to many art libraries with specialized collection-development interests? If so, please be sure to join our Desiderata mailing list here.

Did you know that previous issues of our newsletter are still available through our website? You can find them here.

PDF versions of New Titles list issues from 2009 to 2014 are archived on our website and can be viewed or downloaded here. Reduced PDF versions of subsequent New Titles lists are offered on the same page.

Summer Clearance Sale

The largest sale in Worldwide Books history will be starting soon! Starting July 10, 2018, we will be offering discounts starting at 30% on every in-stock title in our inventory published before 2017. More than 30,000 museum publications and trade monographs on art, architecture, photography and design will be offered for the first time at wholesale prices, including many scarce and out-of-print titles.
Our active backlist includes thousands of exhibition catalogues published since the 1960s, many of which were never commercially distributed in the U.S. All of our books are "new," not used copies;some titles may be slightly shelf-worn, especially those from the 1960s and 70s, but none have serious defects unless specifically noted in our record.
Quantities are extremely limited. For more than half the titles being offered, we have only one copy remaining in stock, so you may wish to search our holdings through our website before the sale starts. We are offering subscribers to our e-Newsletter the special privilege of selecting and purchasing sale items at the discounted price in advance of the sale; simply enter "Summer Sale" in the Special instructions/Comments box of the website's checkout page, and the 30% discount will be applied to your order when it is processed. If you are unable to be invoiced before the start of the fiscal year beginning July 1, we will be glad to hold your selections on reserve for you until then.
Search tips:
On the Advanced Search page of our website, enter "<2017" in the publication date field to limit your search to sale items. In the Print Status box below the pull-down menus, uncheck the small boxes labeled "Include TOS/OSI titles" and "Include OP titles" to limit the search to in-stock titles.
When searching through the Advanced Search page, multiple filters (artistic medium, period, countryor region represented, language of text, etc.) can be applied simultaneously to further limit and refine search results.
Note: Searches retrieve a maximum of 2,000 matching titles per search; for very broad searches that would find more than 2,000 matching records (e.g., "Photography"), users will want to refine their searches by applying additional filters (e.g., period, country represented, language of the text, etc.) and/or conduct the search as a series of mutually exclusive searches based on date of publication (e.g., first search ">1960 <2010" in the YEAR OF PUBLICATION FIELD; second search ">2009 <2019").
Keyword searches, partial string searches (use an "*" as a wildcard character) and exact-phrase searches (put the phrase in quotation marks) can be conducted through the title and publisher field. For more details on how to use our Advanced Search page, click here.
If you would like assistance with compiling targeted lists drawn from the sale database, please contact us.

The sale applies to in-stock items published before 2017.
Use "<2017" (less than 2017) in the "Year of publication" field and be sure to uncheck the boxes under "Print status".
Use any combination of keywords to narrow down your search results to less than 2,000.
