This week we're presenting ShowUp Gallery, Wellfleet Preservation Hall, and New Bedford Whaling Museum.
This week's exhibitions explore immigrant and refugee experiences, diaspora communities, and memory and nostalgia through artwork that blurs lines between past and present. From telling stories of resilience through a family's experience emigrating from Europe during WWII, to pulling at the strings of memory and nostalgia for days gone by, to celebrating 50 years of Cape Verdean independence across the globe, these shows delve into personal and community histories through mixed media, photography, sculpture, painting, poetry and more.
The July/August edition of Artscope Magazine is now available. Want more Artscope? Visit artscopemagazine.com and sign up for online access to see all of our articles, reviews, spotlights and profiles any time, anywhere.
