Meditation Moment
From the Pastor ....
" They will know you are my disciples
by your love for one
(John 13:35
On Sunday, we had an "incognito" pastor visitor! Upon arriving, my friend smelled fresh donuts. During worship, I wondered what she was thinking as her head was down. Brian noticed she was taking notes. After worship, she said, "I'm so impressed with the engagement of the youth and kids!" Students gave the message, offered special music, read the Gospel and offered the blessing.

Justin Grimm from the synod office also remarked that OSLC has a great energy! At the 8:00 AM service two weeks ago, there were so many prayers for birthdays, anniversaries and travels. We had a great laugh at that service when I was told, "there is a group of us traveling to Bethlehem." Impressed, I said, "wow!" (I was thinking "The Holy Land") She meant Bethlehem Lutheran in St. Paul where they would feed the hungry. OSLC truly is a "caring community." The common experience here is that we are a friendly place. It is a joy to serve here! Thanks so much for being who God has called us to be!

Gratitude Containers
In 2019 the Gratitude Containers collected $710 which was sent to Lutheran Disaster Response to help the many people who have been affected by so many natural disasters. The Gratitude containers will once again be handed out on February 9th and 16th. Those who participate drop a coin in their container when they feel gratitude for the events in their own lives with the purpose of helping those who have been less fortunate. The containers filled with coins are then collected in November. Be sure to pick up a container!
