Here it is! Our first spotlights!! Our volunteer this week is Mrs. Jessica Kofron and our staff is Pastor Shuler Sitsch:
Meet Mrs. Jessica! She works with toddlers in the Lakewood Little People preschool and teachers PK - 1st Grade Sunday School! She has been at Lakewood for about 6 years and loves working with our children, because she loves sharing the Good News with little ones. What’s her favorite thing about teaching? “I get to work with some amazing people and teach some sweet kids, and I love that my own kids can come and join me in the class.” When Mrs. Jessica isn’t teaching, she enjoys painting, gardening, and going on walks with her family. When you see Mrs. Jessica around Lakewood UMC, be sure to say hi!
And, meet Pastor Shuler! He has been an associate pastor here at Lakewood UMC for the past 3 years. Pastor Shuler loves Lakewood because it is the first place that he has served as a pastor. He says the people of Lakewood have spoiled him for life because of how kind, supportive, and welcoming they have been to his family! “I also think that this church expresses those virtues well to others, both inside and outside of the church's walls.” When asked about his hobbies, Pastor Shuler says, “Smoking new meats and recipes on the weekends. Playing tennis with my wife, Sara (and usually winning)” He passionately watches and follows sports, specifically the Alabama Crimson Tide, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Braves. It doesn’t stop there, either! He also enjoys running, biking, and listening to podcasts. One final thing Pastor Shuler wants to share…”If we have not met in person, I would love to meet you! Please introduce yourself to me if you see me on Sunday or if you see me in my office throughout the week! I'm also always down for a good cup of coffee.” Give a wave or a smile to Pastor Shuler!!
