Welcome & Announcements

Prelude
Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee - arr. Sharon Elery Rogers
Joyful Noise Ringers

Call to Worship
based on Psalm 139

One:
God, you search me and know me.
Before I sit, you know when I will rise.

Many:
God, you search me and know me.
Before I speak, you know what I will say.

One:
God, you search me and know me, in my joy and despair,
in my breathing in and breathing out.

Many:
God, you search me and know me.
Your knowledge is too deep to reach, too vast to comprehend.
God, you search me and know me.
Search me, O God, and know my heart.

Litany of Affirmation

One:
God of Grace, thank you for tranquil, reflective moments when we are able to recognize you in the world. For all your beauty and your wonder, we give you thanks.

Many:
For the breath in our bodies, for our hearts and souls, for our connections with one another, we give you thanks and praise.

One:
God of Reconciliation, be present with us when conflicts arise. Remind us that we have a higher calling, to forgive those who wrong us, to pray for those who persecute us, and to seek peace in the midst of strife.

Many:
For women who have survived challenging circumstances, for the faith and witness they have shared with us, we give you thanks and praise.

One:
God of Love, we offer our gratitude to you for siblings in Christ who have comforted us and carried us in their hearts in prayer.

Many:
For those of all genders, ages and cultures, for our adoption as children of God and heirs to your promise, O God, we give you thanks and praise.

Anthem
Brother James' Air - Gordon Jacob

The Lord's my Shepherd. I'll not want. He makes me down to lie in pastures green. He leadeth me the quiet waters by. My soul He doth restore again, and me to walk doth make within the Paths of Blessedness, even for His own Name's sake. Yea, though I pass through shadowed vale, yet will I fear no ill, for Thou art with me, and Thy Rod and Staff me comfort still. My table Thou hast furnished in presence of my foes; my head with oil Thou dost anoint, and my cup overflows. Goodness and mercy all my days will surely follow me; and in my Father's heart always my dwelling place shall be.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
