Gracious Lord, forgive us when we linger too long by the waters, or on the mountain tops, or as the wine flows at the wedding banquet, and we remain enthralled with the glory that flows from you. Enable us to hear your voice, leading and guiding us. Shake us from our contentment and send us forward endowed with your power. Amen.

In the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus God keeps God’s promises. All that we can ever hope for was present in Christ. God calls us to hope for more than we have yet seen. The hope God gives us is ultimate confidence that supports us when lesser hopes fail us. This hope gives us courage for the present struggle.
