Hymn

Jesus, Take Us to the Mountain

UNSER HERRSCHER

The Prayer of Confession

in unison

Gracious Lord, forgive us when we linger too long by the waters, or on the mountain tops, or as the wine flows at the wedding banquet, and we remain enthralled with the glory that flows from you. Enable us to hear your voice, leading and guiding us. Shake us from our contentment and send us forward endowed with your power. Amen.

Anthem

O Love! O Life! - Stephan Casurella

O Love! O Life! Our faith and sight thy presence maketh one, as through transfigured clouds of white we trace the noonday sun. So, to our mortal eyes subdued, flesh-veiled, but not concealed, we know in Thee the parenthood and heart of God revealed. We faintly hear, we dimly see, in differing phrase we pray; but, dim or clear, we own in Thee the light, the truth, the way! Our friend, companion, and our Lord, what may Thy service be? Nor name, nor form, nor ritual word, but simply following Thee. Thy litanies, sweet offices of love and gratitude; thy sacramental liturgies, the joy of doing good.

Our Response to the Word

Affirmation of Faith

from A Declaration of Faith

In the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus God keeps God’s promises. All that we can ever hope for was present in Christ. God calls us to hope for more than we have yet seen. The hope God gives us is ultimate confidence that supports us when lesser hopes fail us. This hope gives us courage for the present struggle.

Hymn

Jesus, Come, for We Invite You

SICILIAN MARINERS

The Church at Prayer

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

The Lord’s Prayer

(in unison)

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
