Gathering and Centering Ourselves for Worship

Welcome & Announcements

Recollection - Richard Lloyd

Call to Worship

(in unison)

from Psalm 67

God, we remember with wonder and joy that your spirit is reaching everywhere: rejoicing in the liveliness of all living things; touching what is wounded or ill with healing power; gathering in the lonely, the lost, the least; soothing ancient animosities; creating and recreating a vision of hope.

Come now, Holy Spirit. Let our worship rejoice in you, and lift our hearts, and bind us in one family of loving grace. We ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hymn of Praise

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing

Prayer of Confession

(in unison)

by Bruce Prewer

Loving God, whatever you see as self-righteous, censure; as twisted, straighten; as heartless, soften; as fruitless, prune; as infected, cleanse. Flood your relentless Spirit through our whole being, sweeping away guilt and lethargy, and by the saving grace of Christ Jesus, heal the hidden springs of our personality. Thank you, Holy One, for answering our prayers before we get round to asking them, and for doing much more than we ask or think. Through your Son and our Savior, Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

We Give Thee But Thine Own

Prayer of Thanksgiving

(in unison)

Lord, you give us everything that is good—our homes, our food, our families, and even our lives. All that we own and all that we are belong to you. Since you give us so much, we thank you by sharing our time, our talents, and our money with others in need. Use these gifts to show your love to people throughout our world in Jesus’ name. Amen.
