Greetings!
When we learn about our histories in school or from books, we know the kinds of figures that dominate the narrative. They fit a particular type or come from groups that have long been at the center of society. They are kings or generals. Often, they are men who stand out because of their strength, cunning, or charm.
But when we think closer to home — when we consider our own family stories — it’s not always this way, right? Sometimes our own stories get defined or transformed by some pretty surprising characters. And I think this is true for the Bible as well. It’s not always the powerful king that God lifts up as an example to us.
I hope you’ll join us for worship on this upcoming All Saints’ Sunday. We’ll be remembering those who have gone before us, in our families and our faith community, and giving thanks to God for the wonderful legacy of grace that is a gift to us all.
Peace,
Hardy
Please join us immediately following the Sunday service for our Coffee Hour (in-person in Trinity Court or online via Zoom).
