"Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow"

Hymn #647

*THE CALL TO WORSHIP

Minister: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord, our feet shall stand within Thy gates, O Jerusalem.

People: For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Minister: Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.

People: Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Minister: Blessed are they that dwell in thy house. Lord, I have loved thy habitation, the place where thy honor dwelleth.

People:  For the Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth keep silence before Him.

Minister: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight. O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

People: O sing unto the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth, sing praises.

https://churchanswers.com/podcasts/rainer-on-leadership/i-will-nine-traits-of-the-outwardly-focused-christian-rainer-on-leadership-142/

This podcast will give an overview of the book and review of what we learned from our nine-week series.

Some highlights from today’s episode include:

  • Church membership is more about how you can serve than how you can be served.
  • If you’re not in a small group, you’re not a fully functioning member of the body of Christ.
  • The entire idea behind I Will is to get members focused outwardly.
  • Giving is one of the key indicators for being an outwardly focused church member.
  • You can tell a person’s commitment to their church by looking at their giving statements.
  • Traditions are ok, but not when they become an idol in a church.

The nine “I Will” statements we cover are:

  1. I Will Move from “I Am” to “I Will”
  2. I Will Worship with Others
  3. I Will Grow Together with Others
  4. I Will Serve
  5. I Will Go
  6. I Will Give Generously
  7. I Will Not Be a Church Dropout
  8. I Will Avoid the Traps of Churchianity
  9. I Will Make a Difference
