Girls Time Out
Join us for a "Game Night" on March 8 at 7:00 pm at Our Savior's.  Bring your favorite game and join in a fun evening with other women.  Those attending the Women's Retreat in past years have enjoyed this activity so much that we will dedicate a whole evening to just having fun and fellowship!  Feel free to bring a friend!
Women's Retreat
We will be at the truly beautiful Mt Olivet Retreat Center in Farmington, MN. The dates are April 26 and 27, beginning with dinner on Friday evening and finishing by 4:00 pm on Saturday. The cost is $110 for a double room and $130 for a single room. (Note: limited number of single rooms.)  The cost includes 3 delicious meals, comfortable lodging, and lots of fun with refreshing activities including games, hiking trails, and pool/sauna.  Registration forms are on the women's bulletin board across from the office. A $25 deposit is requested with your registration. Forms and money can be placed in the women's box in the office or left in the church office. We hope you will join us!
Adult Education

March Adult Education Schedule
In March, the Adult Education hour will be dedicated to a series on Legal Immigration. There is great political controversy regarding the control of immigration, both legal and illegal, worldwide today. Few people understand how the legal process in the USA works. Through this series, we hope to provide some clarity to the legal process for both refugees and asylees. Adult Education is on Sundays at 9:15 am in the sanctuary.
March 17: Yusuf Abdi, Sr. Director of Refugee Services, at Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota (LSSMN) and Margaret Yapp, the Volunteer Coordinator for Refugee Services at LSSMN,
will describe the process for refugees coming to Minnesota as well as the process for Asylees. Refugees have been vetted by several US government agencies for immigrants coming to the USA and then are cleared by Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services to come to Minnesota. Margaret will describe how LSSMN then assures these legal refugee(s) a safe and warm welcome in Minnesota through the "Circle of Welcome" program. Margaret has been working at LSSMN 3 years and is a graduate of Luther College where she majored in English and Religion. Yusuf will talk about the Asylee process.
March 24: Pastor Gilo Agwa will share with us how the Asylee process works. Gilo came to this country as an Asylee in 2011 and his family arrived as Asylees in 2014. To be an asylee, a person has to show proof that his life is in danger if he returns to his home country and then must go through the legal process and wait for clearance to stay in the USA until his application for Asylum is granted. Pastor Agwa will share how difficult it was for his family while waiting for approval to join him here in the USA. Pastor Agwa has a Masters of Divinity degree from Dubuque University Seminary in Iowa. Pastor Gilo is employed as a part-time Chaplain at Good Samaritan in Stillwater and also as a part-time leader of the joint Ministry for the Ethiopian immigrants and refugees in Minnesota sponsored by the SPAS of the ELCA and the Presbyteria of the Twin Cities Area.
March 31: Pastor Kathryn Tiede, Senior Director of Church Partnerships and Philanthropy for Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota (LSSMN) will share how Refugee Resettlement is financed and will describe the services that LSSMN provides for immigrants as well how LSSMN touches the lives of people in nearly every county in Minnesota.  Pastor Tiede, who has served in parish ministry both in the ELCA and The Episcopal Church will be preaching at both services. She is passionate about the work of the Gospel as it is lived out in congregations and communities, and is excited about the opportunity to be with us.
Call Committee

Call Committee Update
Bishop Patricia Lull met with the Call Committee on February 19 to provide an orientation to the call process. Bishop Lull will be our Synod contact as we move forward.
In  the next step of the call process, you can get involved. The Call Committee invites you to nominate an ELCA-rostered Pastor whom you believe should be considered for OSLC's call. If you know of such a Pastor, please complete the form that will be available on the Welcome Desk at the church and return the completed form no later than March 13.
As Bishop Lull said, we have a lot to be excited about at Our Savior's. We hope that you share the Call Committee's excitement during this important process, and we ask that you keep the Call Committee in your prayers.
