Welcome and Announcements
Today we will not let COVID-19 and social distancing stop us from celebrating some of the best things about us. One of our strongest relationship groups is our choir. They love to sing and laugh together. They care for each other and look out for each other. Here is a secret. To be a part of this group you do not need to know music or how to sing. All you need is a desire to love and be loved. So, here is today's worship email as we celebrate Choir Sunday! Welcome and we hope you are blessed!

Remember to check your email frequently for updates and news about our closure. Please reach out if you need help - you can always call the church office phone (602)993-0050 for instructions on how to connect with Pastor Ken, Lois, or preschool Director Liz Curry.

Shadow Rock’s Pastor’s Charitable Fund has seen a lot of action since our Christmas Eve offering. We anticipate additional needs and want to have the capacity to respond with compassion and action. Also, please consider supporting Daniel Nantz by contributing to his GoFundMe page .

We continue to learn new techniques and attempt different ways to keep connected during this time. We appreciate your support and patience and always welcome your suggestions!
Call to Worship and Opening Prayers
Call to Worship
Shared by Cindy and Mike Gattorna
We invite you to add another dimension to your time of devotion and spiritual awareness. Grab a candle. Ever since humanity discovered fire, flame has been a symbol of community and spiritual presence. Light your candle and say,

"For every time we make a mistake and we decide to start again:
we light this flame.
For every time we are lonely and we let someone be our friend:
we light this flame.
For every time we are disappointed and we choose to hope:
we light this flame."   (M M Killoran)

Hello, we are Mike and Cindy Gattorna. We give thanks for the opportunity we have to gather and celebrate this day.
May we be surrounded with a very real sense of the presentness
of the Source and Sustainer of all that Exists as we spend this time together. May a spirit of wisdom inspire and challenge us.

Opening Prayer
Holy One of One-Hundred Beautiful Names,
three of which are Compassion, Love, and Mercy,
I acknowledge my failings against you and against your creation.
In my attempts to be good, too often I have listened to others
instead of trusting my own divine instincts.
Instead of allowing Holy Breath to swirl around me freely,
sometimes I have tried to trap the breeze in a box to be used for my
own purposes.
I pray that your light may shine through me unobstructed.
I hope that I may grow to reflect your Glorious Harmony in the world.
I ask this in your beautiful names,
through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Prayer of Jesus
Need a meditative experience? Here’s music to accompany your prayer time:
Our Loving God who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power and the glory forever.  Amen.

Celebrations and Offering
Celebrations
Friends, we are staying connected by sharing each other’s thoughts and celebrations. Please do a selfie video of your celebration and send it to Pastor Ken at ken@shadowrockucc.org. If you need some tech help with this, please let us know. Do not let a little thing like tech “know how” keep you separated from the people who love you.

Thanks to Bert Ruby for reminding us to celebrate and appreciate nurses! National Nurses’ Week was May 6 through May 12.
Offering
The Spirit blesses all gifts; the Spirit blesses all givers. When we give, we find ourselves in a space of gratitude for the gifts of healing, peace, and life itself.

Thank you everyone for your love and support of Shadow Rock! Your financial support and donations are more important than ever as we go through this unprecedented time of uncertainty. Thank you if you are an E-giver, as this helps with a consistent cash flow and support of all our ministries.  Click here to read Heidi's Corner for current numbers. Please, consider trying E-giving for a season as we are not receiving mail at this time.  If you’d like to try E-giving or would like to donate to any of the special offerings please follow these links to Donate Now, or contact Heidi.

If you are in need of food, utility assistance, water, or medications, please contact any staff or board member.

The Word About Life For Today
I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
-Ephesians 4: 1-6

Words for Mission and Sending Forth
Words for Mission

Our lives are but a breath,
But our breaths are drawn from your divine Spirit.
You have created us as walking paradoxes
Specs of dust and divine image bearers.
Grant us a deeper fullness of being and spirit,
By carrying in us the memory of community and connection for the coming week.

These are the times!
We are the people.
All of Creation is blessed.
May we love all and serve all.
May God be with you.
Amen.
