Intentionality
Sabbath Embracing Storytime
The Hug Machine by Scott Campbell
We're spending some time in Sabbath appreciating the wonder of childhood. Thanks to the Spencer Family for letting us drop virtually into storytime. Who or what will we embrace in this season of Sabbath? Charlotte and Eleanor have some ideas.

Sabbath Framing and Reflection
Embracing implies being very intentional about what we are doing. This means being very mindful of how and why we do what we do. What helps you foster this mindfulness?

Embracing Sabbath values as an individual is important but embracing such values as a community of faith is powerful. How can Shadow Rock’s embracing of Sabbath values work for peace and justice?

We cannot offer anything to anyone if we do not first embrace it for ourselves. What Shadow Rock values are you embracing in this season? How will you offer that gift to others?
Call to Worship
Today we will consider many aspects of Sabbath Embracing—
Embracing with our hearts and minds, means making choices.
Embracing means making different choices from the ones we usually make.
Let us choose to embrace time over space.
We embrace giving instead of requiring.
We embrace our calling in life over our occupations.
We embrace the wholeness of God’s shalom
over the fractured peacekeeping of human striving.
We embrace the world.
We embrace our place in the universe over our roles in society.
Our Sabbath Time is here!
We Celebrate With Music and Giving

Special Music
We are trying to lift one another's spirits in these days. Thanks Forrest and Carol for this rendition of ' High Hopes.'
Offering
Spirit of Life, help us share with the world the source of our hope. Help our sharing be both genuine and gentle. Our giving kindles our hope and brightens our hearts. We are grateful. Amen.

Your financial support of our community continues to be important and appreciated. Heidi’s Corner (our weekly financial update) will return next week. Today's gifts that are designated as Communion Offering will support our community through the Pastor's Charitable Fund.

Our Online Community Via Zoom
Communion, Coffee Chat, and Fellowship at 11:00 am
Grab Communion elements of your choice and spend some time with your church family.

In faith and love, in hope found in our connections,
gathered in many places,
we celebrate community and breathe in the comfort
found in being together.

At our tables we give thanks for friends and strangers.
At our tables we welcome old and young.
May God be with you.
All: And also with you.

God of laughter,
All: Praise and wonder be.
God, the giver of good gifts,
All: Praise and wonder be.
God who delights in Creation,
All: Praise and wonder be.

In our praise and thanksgiving,
we are steadfast in remembering the ways of Jesus
who walked the dusty roads of Galilee,
who taught from seashore and mountainside,
who told stories of everyday life,
Stories that helped make the mystery of life
able to be comprehended however briefly by regular people.
May we, too, experience an appreciation of mystery.

Through grain and grape, bread and wine,
We remember.

Be present with us now, Enfolding God,
as we share this symbolic meal.
Let your Holy Spirit brood among us and upon
and through this Bread and Wine.

The bread of life, offered to all for sustenance and comfort!
The cup of blessing, poured out for all to bring about God’s Dream!
