Paradise Valley United Methodist Church
Family Sunday
Sunday, May 28 is a Family Sunday, when families are encouraged to worship together. We'll have praise bags at the door for every child and childcare for children under age 5. Even though it's a holiday weekend, we are open for worship at 8, 9:30 and 11 am! Serendipities, the gift shop, will be open too, but not the Paradise Perk because our volunteer manager is chaperoning the youth choir tour to Vegas!
Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

United Methodists were truly methodical from the very beginning. The denomination started as a small group of college students at Oxford University who wanted a stronger life of faith. They met weekly to challenge one another in pursuit of this goal. They began to meet several times a week, then daily. When John Wesley, who was a part of the initial group, began his revival movement and large crowds came to hear him preach he wanted a way for people to step into a life of faith, not simply hear a good sermon and then go home. Wesley began his class meetings with 10-12 new Methodists gathering each week. Their purpose was to intentionally build a life in God. The experience was positively transformative. Lives were changed. People’s problems, sins and bad behavior were addressed. Those struggling were helped. So how does all that happen for you, building a life in God? I think it is a bit different for each of us, but God invites...
