As news continues to develop about the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), our Congregation Council decided to implement some precautions in worship, acting out of an abundance of caution.

The very best precautions are ones you can take. Wash your hands, scrubbing them for at least twenty seconds, avoid touching your face, nose or mouth, and stay home if you are sick. ( Read more. ) Pastor Christina visits members who cannot worship with the congregation. Please contact the office (704-487-5679) if you cannot come to worship and would like a visit.

In worship, changes you may notice are:
  • We are observing a Lenten discipline of refraining from sharing the peace during worship as a way to mark this season of reflection.

  • We are providing facial tissues and hand sanitizer in the pews. If you don't see one or the other, look for them in the pew in front or behind you.

  • Pastor Christina already uses hand sanitizer before and after distributing communion and switches hands to offer a blessing. You may have noticed she dropped the bread into your hand on Sunday, and will continue that practice.

  • Finally, please remember that Christ is present in one or both elements, so if you prefer to only receive the bread, you may make that choice.
