The Last Sunday after Pentecost

Friends, this week we shift into the last week of Pentecost. We celebrate the feast of Christ the King, which points toward a God-centered vision of what power can look like, which often renders a stark contrast to what earthly rule looks like. It's another wonderful way in which we see the world turned upside-down by the incredible love of Jesus.

Things worth noting this week: The Bishop is Coming! The Rt. Rev. Ian T. Douglas, PhD will be joining us for a visitation at the 10:00 am Service. He will preach and preside over the service, meeting with the vestry afterward.

At the 8:00 AM service, The Rev. Julie Kelsey will be out preacher. Both services will be live-streamed.

COVID Protocol Update: Beginning this week, we are no longer asking for pre-registration for worship. Please note that at this time, we continue to maintain masking and reasonable distancing when practicable.

The Bishop's visitation this Sunday

The Rt. Rev. Ian Douglas, Bishop Diocesan of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut, will be visiting St. Peter's for the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, November 21. We look forward to this bittersweet occasion, as this will most likely be his last visitation among us before his upcoming retirement in 2022. We hope you will be here to greet him.

Training for Worship Participants

Training to both welcome and train new members into Service Ministries, and to brush up skills and procedures for those already serving in these ministries, will be held on Saturday, December 4.

Since our return to in-person service, some of the duties and responsibilities have changed, so this is an opportunity to brush up our skills, learn new skills and to train new participants.

The schedule is

10:00a.m. for Ushers and Greeters and

10:45 for LEMs and Acolytes.

We welcome and very much need new members to participate in these important ministries herr at St. Peter's. Come find out what it's all about to see if this is a way you can serve. Please contact Dee Green to let her know if you can make this training.

+ Pray for all who will be persecuted for their faith, and for all refugees seeking safety.

+ Pray for renewal in our church, that the Holy Spirit might bless us with the endurance to run the race before us, and to do so with joy.

+In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer this week, we pray for The Church of Bangladesh

and in the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer we remember St. Paul’s, Woodbury; St. John the Evangelist, Yalesville; and Grace Church, Yantic.
