Spiritual Formation
Join the Zoom meeting via the button above at 9 o'clock for spiritual formation, or show up in the Multipurpose Room for in-person discussion. This week, our topic is emotional experiences connected with holiday celebrations, informed by new research from Brene Brown's Atlas of the Heart. Spiritual formation will be on hiatus on December 19 and 26. We will re-gather on January 2 for an Epiphany series on the life of Jesus. All are welcome!

Call to Worship and Music Video -
Lean In Toward the Light
Lighting the Third Advent Candle
One: The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.
All: Those who lived in a land of deep darkness—on them light has shined.
One: A new green sprout shall come out from the cut down stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow from the ancient holy roots.
All: And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest on the coming Holy One. Our shared delight is in awe and wonder of the Sacred Promise.
Musical Call to Worship - Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King; Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!”
Joyful, all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies;
With th’ angelic host proclaim, “Christ is born in Bethlehem!”
Chorus
Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King!”
Christ, by highest heaven adored; Christ the everlasting Lord! Late in time behold him come, offspring of the virgin’s womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see, hail th’ incarnate Deity,
Pleased as we with those to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel.
Chorus
Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in his wings.
Mild he lays His glory by, born that we no more may die,
Born to raise the meek of earth, born to give them second birth.
Chorus
