Good Morning -
It's (Still) Christmastide!

No matter who you are or how you participate (coming to the campus to joining online), YOU ARE WELCOME AND LOVED.
Order of Worship
Spiritual Formation
Spiritual Formation re-starts today! In January and February we are looking at different aspects of the life of Jesus with an eye toward the question, "What does life with God look like?" This theme will be echoed in worship. All are welcome! Bring your experiences and your imagination, in person or on Zoom.

Create the Space
One: Do not look for beauty in some far away place or future time.
All: Beauty is here and now in the presence of nature and the company of friends and family.
One: Beauty is in life’s common deeds and earth’s common things. In all these things seen and unseen, God is revealed and with us. So, let us celebrate the richness and diversity of life.

Singing Our Welcome - All Are Welcome

Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live.
A place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
Rock of faith and vault of grace.
Here the love of Christ shall end divisions:
Chorus
All are welcome, all are welcome, all are welcome in this place.

Let us build a house where love is found in water, wine and wheat.
A banquet hall on holy ground where peace and justice meet.
Here the love of God through Jesus is revealed in time and space.
As we share in Christ the feast that frees us.
Chorus

Let us build a house where hands will reach beyond the wood and
stone.
To heal and strengthen, serve and teach,
And live the Word they’ve known.
Here the outcast and the stranger bear the image of God’s face.
Let us bring an end to fear and danger.
Chorus

Be The Church (Prayer and Text)

A Word About Life - Rev. Ken Heintzelman

Hebrews 13:5-6
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you.’ So we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?’

Creative Reflection -
Life Doesn't Frighten Me At All by Maya Angelou

Shadows on the wall
Noises down the hall
Life doesn't frighten me at all

Bad dogs barking loud
Big ghosts in a cloud
Life doesn't frighten me at all

Mean old Mother Goose
Lions on the loose
They don't frighten me at all

Dragons breathing flame
On my counterpane
That doesn't frighten me at all.

I go boo
Make them shoo
I make fun
Way they run
I won't cry
So they fly
I just smile
They go wild

Life doesn't frighten me at all.

Tough guys fight
All alone at night
Life doesn't frighten me at all.

Panthers in the park
Strangers in the dark
No, they don't frighten me at all.

That new classroom where
Boys all pull my hair
(Kissy little girls
With their hair in curls)
They don't frighten me at all.

Don't show me frogs and snakes
And listen for my scream,
If I'm afraid at all
It's only in my dreams.

I've got a magic charm
That I keep up my sleeve
I can walk the ocean floor
And never have to breathe.

Life doesn't frighten me at all
Not at all
Not at all.

Life doesn't frighten me at all.

How much has fear been a part of shaping your life? What is one small step you can take to tip the scale toward courage and love?

Celebrations and Celebration Song
This is our time to share the celebrations of our lives: birthdays, anniversaries, words of kindness and works of peace and justice. Please be aware that we are streaming our services and what you share will be shared on the internet.
Invitation to Give
One: As a river without an outlet becomes stagnant, so life which receives but does not give becomes polluted and sour.
All: As we give, we know we will be refreshed and cleansed as well as being a blessing to others.

Offering and Offertory
Dedication of Ourselves and Offerings
One: With joy to face our challenges,
All: With love that casts out fear,
One: With hope to trust tomorrow,
All: We accept this day as the gift it is - a reason for rejoicing and giving.
One: We give thanks for the richness and diversity of life.

Sharing the Bread and Cup

All: We will be a blessing in our going out and our coming in.
One: These are the times!
