Adult Spiritual Formation - 10:00 am
Spiritual formation meets in person and on Zoom this week from the Multipurpose Room. Because of our upcoming congregational meeting (June 20 at 10:00 am), today is our last morning of formation programming before July Sabbath. We're in Romans, chapter 8 and it's getting real!
When we study scripture, we start with a look at context, setting, and authorship. Everyone is welcome; everyone can contribute! If there are faith and spirituality subjects that you're curious about, email Karen to make suggestions for the Fall 2021 schedule.

The worship reservation form includes a space to share your celebrations and prayer concerns. You can also send an email. For in-the-moment celebrations, Zoom worshippers can unmute and share when invited to do so or use the chat function anytime. All congregants can text Pastor Ken at 480-263-3308. In-person worshippers can also write a card with their celebration or prayer concern.

Call to Worship

One: God made Day and Night, right?
All: But that is not all we experience... God also paints the skies with sunrises and sunsets.
One: On the second day of creation, God separated sky from water.
All: Yet the clouds hold water for us in the sky and the cycle of condensation, rain, and evaporation refreshes and renews the earth.
One: And God said, “let the water beneath the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.”
All: But this is not the whole story. God’s love of diversity can be seen in bogs and marshes, swamp and fen.
One: And God made the sun to rule the day and the moon to rule the night, and the stars.
All: But that is not all that space contains: God also made asteroids and comets, black holes and nebulae.
One: So we celebrate and honor the both/and of creation all around us, including all the variety of the human family.
All: We worship the God of more: the God of the marsh and the penguin, the clouds, the sunrise, the supernova. We worship the God of the nonbinary. Nonbinary family, we see you; we love you; we want for you what we want for ourselves: rest, safe space, and ease.
