Call To Worship
I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
    Where will my help come from?
  My help comes from the Lord,
    the maker of heaven and earth.
  God won’t let your foot slip.
    Your protector won’t fall asleep on the job.
  No! Israel’s protector
    never sleeps or rests!
  The Lord is your protector;
    the Lord is your shade right beside you.
  The sun won’t strike you during the day;
    neither will the moon at night.
The Lord will protect you from all evil;
    God will protect your very life. [ a ]
  The Lord will protect you on your journeys—
    whether going or coming—
    from now until forever from now.
Psalm 121

Hymn - I Want A Principle Within - Lyrics below - UMH 410

We Go to Serve

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
A mighty Fortress is our God,
A Bulwark never failing;
Our Helper He amid the flood
Of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe
Doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great,
And, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.

Did we in our own strength confide,
Our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side,
The Man of God’s own choosing:
Dost ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabaoth His Name,
From age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.

And though this world, with devils filled,
Should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed
His truth to triumph through us:
The Prince of Darkness grim,
We tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure,
For lo! his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.
That word above all earthly powers,
No thanks to them, abideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours
Through Him who with us sideth:
Let goods and kindred go,
This mortal life also;
The body they may kill:
God’s truth abideth still,
His Kingdom is forever.

I Want a Principle Within

I want a principle within
Of jealous, godly fear,
A sensibility of sin,
A pain to feel it near.
I want the first approach to feel
Of pride or fond desire,
To catch the wand'ring of my will,
And quench the kindling fire.

From Thee that I no more may part,
No more Thy goodness grieve,
The filial awe, the fleshly heart,
The tender conscience, give.
Quick as the apple of an eye,
O God, my conscience make;
Awake my soul when sin is nigh,
And keep it still awake.

Almighty God of truth and love,
To me Thy pow'r impart;
The mountain from my soul remove,
The hardness from my heart.
Oh, may the least omission pain
My reawakened soul,
And drive me to that blood again,
Which makes the wounded whole.

You are the church. Your continued faithful participation in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness, the church will survive this time and come out stronger for it.

In this time of self-quarantine and social distancing what does being a member of Senoia UMC look like?

The basics are the same. Your pastor, Ashley, is still available to you whenever you need her. She is praying for you every day. The staff is still working to keep things going, to keep communications updated, to keep ministry and Connection groups in touch with each other. We are still holding worship each Sunday online. Your pastor, staff and church council are working to ensure that SUMC continues to be the church you need it to be and that you are not alone in this uncertain time. We are guided always by our Christian beliefs, the Holy Spirit, the Grace of God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

As members, SUMC needs you to continue to pray, to 'attend' services, to send in your gifts, to serve as you can, and witness, through word and deed. We will make every effort to ensure you can remain connected to SUMC during this time of physical separation.

We also hope that you will continue regular giving of your tithes and offerings in order for SUMC to remain fiscally sound. If you have a good internet connection and feel comfortable with computer stuff, you can give online. If you'd rather, you can mail your check to the church. The counters will be making weekly deposits. If you are not able to give at this time, please know that your hardship is understood.

Senoia United Methodist Church has been, is and will be here for you!

I-58 Mission Needs
Food Donations
With school closings, shortages and job challenges, I-58 Mission is in dire need of your food contributions.

Our ministry partner, I-58 Mission, is working hard to ensure that students who are home due to schools closings will have food. I-58 Mission is partnering with Bridging the Gap and Backpack Buddies.

They are requesting Pop Top foods like Chef Boyardee and Sausages, fruit cups, chips, granola bars, and snacks foods.

There is also an urgent need for families who have lost their jobs, have medical issues, are frail, and/or elderly. They need food and the basic necessities of life.

You can drop your donations off at I-58 or on my front porch at the parsonage. If you would like to shop online and have the food delivered to I-58, their address is   2450 Highway 85  Senoia GA 30276
Thank you for your continuous generosity.
