Men’s Breakfast Starts October 13, 8:15 AM



Immanuel’s MEN’S MONTHLY BREAKFAST begins Tuesday, October 13, 8;15 AM at Mama Lor’s on Ridge Road in Union Hill. It is a time for informal fellowship and conversation. The agenda is simple – eat breakfast; no planned program; fellowship and conversation; and, a weekly question/topic raised for a brief discussion by all. We order off the menu and pay for ourselves. All men of Immanuel are invited and encouraged to come. September Adult Class

A Study of the Epistle of James

As Lutherans, we often give the epistle of James a bad rap, thinking we’re following the advice of Martin Luther himself. Yet, Luther did not want James removed from the New Testament nor from Sunday worship readings, e.g. the lectionary. Join the adult Sunday school immediately after worship, as we begin a study on the background and rich teachings of this short letter. James’ words are very relevant to today’s world! Come and learn how James’ ideas should influence our daily thoughts and approaches to community.

Luther Fest is back on Friday, October 24th at 5:00pm. We will gather at church for a potluck feast. Brats, beer, root beer, and water will be provided, as well as table service. Please bring a dish to share as we celebrate Reformation with this fun evening of great food, hymn sing, and merriment. Reformation Sunday – October 25



Come celebrate the Festival of Reformation, the day Martin Luther set off a spirited storm that changed the Church forever! We will celebrate our Lutheran heritage and give thanks for God’s – and your – generosity as we celebrate the first anniversary of our capital campaign, Rooted in Faith – Building to Serve. Mark your calendar and join us for a morning filled with joy and thanks!



Care Packages Sunday, October 25th



All are welcome to help put together the packages. This is a wonderful opportunity to let our youth know their Immanuel family cares and is praying for them. If you would like to bring a donation for the care packages (snacks like cookies, candy, chips, snack bars, popcorn, mac and cheese, ramen, and hot chocolate envelopes) or supplies (Kiddie Band-Aids, small package of cotton swabs, Post-it pads, highlighters, travel size lotion or hand sanitizer, pencil grips, small gift card from Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks) for the boxes (or write a note to include in the package) please leave it in the bin marked “Care Packages” in the lower hallway before October 27. We also need the address of those members in the military or attending college or trade school. Please email the addresses to Office@immanuelwebster.org or leave a note with the address on the office desk on Sunday.

Praying with Our Neighbors

Women’s Retreat, November 14



In this time when differences among people are being highlighted, we will take a day to better understand one thing that many have in common—prayer. Women of various faith practices (Buddhism, Islam, Jewish) will share their faith perspective of prayer, and will each lead us in a prayer experience and answer our questions. Join us on Saturday, November 14, from 9-4 at Immanuel. Lunch will be provided; please bring a snack to share. The cost is $10. Register by November 8 by contacting the office or signing up in the main hallway downstairs. And invite some friends! The more perspectives that are present, the more we will learn.
