Summer Worship Music

Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord!  Our wonderful choir will be taking a well deserved break during June and July.

Please consider sharing your own musical talent during our summer services by signing up for Special Music on any Sunday during those two months.

There's a Sign Up Sheet at the rear of the Sanctuary, or you may contact Jussara directly at hortonjussara@gmail.com.

Sunday School Resuming on September 7

With many of us enjoying other summertime activities, our Sunday School class has decided not to meet during July & August.

On Sunday, September 7, 9:15 am to 10:00 a.m., we expect to resume our weekly study of How We Learn to Be Brave, by Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, beginning with Chapter 5: "Stepping Up to the Plate."

Prayers, Concerns and Joys

If you would like a prayer listed in the Highland Happening, please email William at office@highlandpresby.org

Please pray for our members, families, and friends.

We lift-up prayers for those among our community who are shut in. Be with them as they are separated in body from their loved ones.

For those who are tired because they are undergoing medical treatments — that they may continue to have good care, support, strength, and healing, especially for Jean Williamson undergoing treatment for breast cancer and Rob Williamson undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.

For those making decisions about countries, policies, and the futures of peoples — that their decisions may be guided by God’s love and plan for our shared world.

For the future of our democracy — that the protections of our constitution and our form of government will continue to grow and flourish through all adversity.

For Jim who is using a wheelchair because of meningitis — that he might continue to recover and be able to walk again soon.

For continued steps toward peace and healing in the Democratic Republic of Congo — that their people may meet the days ahead free of fear and uncertainty.

For the family and family of Jose Cortes, especially his wife Linda, as they grieve his passing.

Thanks be to God — for Esa Myers, whose back surgery has brought pain relief.

For the governments of all nations - that they will seek peace with the power that they have.

For the natural world, for the sick, and for those who work for peace - that they will know the comfort of your presence and find strength in your love.

For Highland Presbyterian - in this time of transition, give this congregation your peace, your assurance, and your mercy as they travel this in-between journey. Encourage and equip them to continue to be your faithful people in this time of transition.
