This Sunday



The 10:00 a.m. worship service, the ONLY service of worship, will be in person in our Sanctuary and also live-streamed to Facebook and YouTube, including a Live Chat feature. Free childcare is provided.

Our guest preacher this Sunday is the Rev. Dr. Rodney Sadler. Rodney is an Associate Professor of Bible and Director of the Center for Social Justice and Reconciliation at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of Howard University and Howard University School of Divinity and has a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and biblical archaeology from Duke University. He is an ordained Baptist minister who has served in pastoral supply roles at several Presbyterian congregations. Rodney will return to DCPC this fall to teach the Jubilee class on

September 27th.

Rodney will be preaching his sermon, entitled "You Say You Want a Revolution," based on Deuteronomy 6:1-9, Leviticus 19:18b, and

Luke 10:25-37.

The music will be provided by David Brinson, Sarah Lynch, Mitzi Nelson, the combined choirs of Davidson Presbyterian Church and Davidson College Presbyterian Church .

Sunday School Classes for Adults meet at 9:00 a.m.

Maloney Class will meet in the McLandress Library. Steve Scott teaches on Lydia, Judged to Be Faithful - Acts 16:11–40.

Pines Class will meet in the Living Room on the Pines campus. John Kuykendall teaches on Lydia, Judged to Be Faithful - Acts 16:11–40.

Sunday School Classes for all ages (children, youth, college students, and adults) resumes on Sunday, September 13th at 9:45 am. Many classes will meet in new rooms. Welcome Dr. Jacqueline Bussie to

the Covenant Class



We welcome back to DCPC Dr. Jacki to the Covenant Class on September 13 at 9:45 AM. She is the author of three award-winning books, Laughter of the Oppressed, Outlaw Christian, and Love Without Limits. The Laughter of the Oppressed won the national Trinity Prize. Outlaw Christian: Finding Authentic Faith by Breaking the Rules won the 2017 Gold Medal Illumination Award for Christian Living and received a coveted starred review from Publishers Weekly. But before that, she was a Davidson student of both Tony Abbott and John Kuykendall. Dr. Bussie will present a special class in memory of Tony and Susan Abbott’s long leadership of the Covenant Class.

Elizabeth Lenti is Director of Music and Organist at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Charlotte, North Carolina as well as Artistic Director of Charlotte Choir School. A native of Rochester, New York, Ms. Lenti is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music. She will play music by Buxtehude, Widor, Vierne, and George Shearing. Admission is free.
