The Rev. Mark Dickinson, Settle Memorial UMC senior pastor

Sermon Outline: To download or print a copy of the outline, click here.

“It’s crucial that we keep a firm grip on what we’ve heard so that we don’t drift off.” - Hebrews 2:1

Has there been a time in my life when I was closer to God than I am right now?

God’s love is __________________________.

“He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy …” - Titus 3:5

My sin has already been __________________________.

“Jesus served as a sacrifice for our sins, not only ours, but also for those of the whole world.” - 1 John 2:2

God doesn’t hold a __________________________.

“God will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He has not punished us for all our sins, nor does he deal with us as we deserve.”- Psalm 103:9-10

Return to God __________________________.

“Now is the time. ‘Today if you hear God’s voice speaking to you, do not harden your heart …’ ” - Hebrews 3:15

Wednesday Nights Start Feb. 5 with 2 New Adult Bible Studies

Mark your calendars for Wednesdays at Settle to resume on Feb. 5! Our Wednesday evening programming offers a light meal and something for all ages.

Two Bible study small groups will be offered on Wednesday evenings for adults. The 4 p.m. study, led by Rev. Jim Keegan, will meet in the ROC Conference Room and use the study "John: The Gospel of Light and Life" by Adam Hamilton. The study offers an in-depth look at the Gospel of John and "invites readers to find their own place in the Gospel story and to follow a fresh path to God." Participants are encouraged to bring their Bibles.

The 5:45 p.m. study, led by Rev. Mark Dickinson, will meet in the ROC Conference Room and use the study series entitled, "Ask It," written by Andy Stanley. The study examines that in our lives, we are constantly asking questions and making choices. But are we asking the most important question of them all? Andy Stanley identifies the one question that makes it easier to answer all the other questions of life in this study. We will talk about making decisions with confidence that will help us in life's greatest challenges.

Youth small groups (Grades 6-12) will meet on Wednesdays after the meal, and children’s choir (age 4-Grade 5) will meet in our Education Building for children's choir. All interested also are invited to God’s Troubadours, a folk music group, at 5:45 p.m. in the Shepherd Center or to choir rehearsal at 6:45 p.m. in the Shepherd Center.

Please join us on Wednesday night for food and fellowship together as well as an opportunity to grow spiritually.
