Here's how this new potential program would work. Each business that would like to participate (ideal for retail/restaurants/businesses with foot traffic) would pay the chamber $20 to participate. That $20 will then be used as prize money for the general public that participates in the Gnome Hunt.
The chamber will provide each participating business with a printed and laminated picture of a gnome on 8.5" x 14" paper and a QR code. You "hide" this gnome and QR code somewhere in your business. The public has between Saturday, December 9 and Friday, December 21 to find the gnome and scan the QR Code which will bring them to the chamber's website to enter.
Each participant can only scan each businesses gnome once. Each different business they visit counts as one entry. The more businesses they visit, the more times they are entered.
Then on December 22 the Chamber will do a random drawing for first, second and third place. The prizes will be awarded in cash! The amount awarded will be determined by how many businesses participate. The $20 entry fee each business give the Chamber to participate is the prize money awarded at the end! Because of that, we would like to know that we will have at least 12 businesses participating before we launch this. Below is a sample of the flyer that I will complete once we know what businesses will be participating and how much money we will be able to pay out.
