September Shelter Stats Are Out!
|
|
Check out these Stockton Animal Shelter stats for September: 98.5% live release rate for dogs and 92.7% live release rate for cats! Amazing!!!
You don’t accomplish these numbers (especially at an under-resourced shelter) without:
- Commitment to a common goal.
- Passion and hard work.
- Exceptional dedication to exhaust all resources.
None of this would be possible without the compassionate Animal Control Officers, compassionate Animal Care Attendants and compassionate teams across the board that are so deeply committed to providing humane care and achieving live outcomes. This is a group of people who value life and who are all about making extraordinary changes. This is not a job for us; it’s a passion, it’s a lifestyle and we are Stockton! We truly couldn’t be prouder!
We are so grateful for the support from our community - we need you alongside us every step of the way to make these changes that benefit the region's animals most in need and SAVE LIVES! We need your continued support to continue to help us save lives. We need motivation as well; we too are human and need to feel supported and believed in! Join us and our commitment to do our best, be the best and serve our community's animals to the best of our ability! Help us make an even greater impact and save more lives!!!

Meet SSPA’s October Dog of the Month: Frodo!!! Is this not one of the cutest faces you’ve ever seen?!
This 2.5-year-old cutie is all about the zoomies and the water! He seriously loves the kiddie pool and would love one in his adoptive home! He is very adventurous and loves to investigate and climb. He’s a total ham and has a huge smile! He resource guards food, so he can’t go to a home with young children, and we would prefer that adopters are willing to feed him in a crate to help alleviate his need to protect his food. He participates in playgroups with playful female dogs. He’d love to find a home and start living life to the fullest!

You get to check out who's at the shelter looking for a home - and there are so many wonderful pets!

Last month's Dog of the Month Evie, at left in the top photo, found an amazing and adoring family!
Adopter Margaret said, "Josh and I definitely hit the jackpot, she already is the best thing that we could have ever asked for!"
Her foster Christen said, "Nothing makes me feel more at peace than seeing a pup find its furever home 💛🐕🐾 and being part of that happy ending makes it all worth it! Dear Miss Evie - you hit the jackpot and I wish you THE very best happy tails ... Love you 💛 Dear Margaret - you hit the jackpot and I wish you all of the sloppy doggy kisses, snuggles and tail wags for many years to come. Thank you for choosing to adopt, it's people like you that help to save one life at a time! 🐾"
We couldn't be happier for this beloved girl and her family! To Christen, Margaret and Josh: Thank you so much!!!

Penny, formerly Clover, was adopted today!
Her foster Christen (the same wonderful person who fostered Evie, above) said: "I want to introduce the newest addition to our family. Meet Miss Penny! I am absolutely over the moon about this pretty little girl right here! I brought her home last Sunday, 10/3, and every day I've fallen further and further in love 💛 I can't wait for all of our fun adventures to come! 🐾🐕 P.S. Thanks to SSPA and the Stockton Animal Shelter who work tirelessly day in and day out, to give each and every one of these amazing dogs a chance for a happy ending."
We love it!!! Congratulations Penny - we can't wait to see where your adventures together take you!

Layla, another shelter and foster long-timer and team favorite, found her home yesterday!
Her amazing fosters, @zeus.the.velvet.hippo on Instagram, said: "Lil Layla Bean got adopted today!! She’s the luckiest dog in the world, having two sets of parents who will love her forever. We’ll miss you little girl. But @its_mr_marvin is soooooo lucky to have you as his new sister!"
Congratulations Layla girl! We're so happy you landed with an amazing family!!!

Earl, at right, who was recently adopted, seems to have been the missing piece to his family pack!
Adopter Roy says, "He’s doing great and fitting in well!"
Thank you for taking this sweet boy home and giving him a wonderful life!
