Travel with Rolando - The Road Journal

Life After Retirement with Bella

Bella and I have now been traveling the country in our RV for over a year, and I thought it was time to share a little update.

From the Road

I’ve been thinking about many of you lately and wanted to send a quick update from wherever Bella and I happen to be parked this week.

It’s hard to believe it’s been more than a year since I retired, packed up an RV, and set out across the country with Bella riding shotgun. Life has slowed down in the best way. Most mornings begin with coffee outside the RV while Bella investigates the newest campground or trail.

Even with all the adventure, I still miss the people who made those working years so memorable. The conversations, the laughter, and the everyday moments that meant more than we realized at the time.

Your encouragement, kindness, and unwavering support over the years have meant more to me than words can express. From the bottom of my heart—I’m truly, deeply grateful to every one of you.

With love and appreciation,

Rolando

 Bella’s Corner

Bella has fully embraced life as a traveling companion.

Every stop brings new smells, new walking paths, and usually a few new friends at the campground. She has become quite the seasoned traveler and seems convinced that the entire country exists just to provide her with interesting places to explore.

If there were a loyalty program for dogs who travel in RVs,

she would have reached lifetime status by now.

Book Update!

One of the unexpected gifts of this year on the road has been the time to write.

I recently released my new book, Between Storms and Sunrises, and I’m grateful to share that it made the Amazon Kindle Best Seller list.

Writing it while traveling the country has been a meaningful experience. If you happen to be looking for something new to read, you can find it on Amazon. I’d love for you to check it out.

Lessons from the Road

Traveling slowly has a way of changing how you see things.

When you’re not rushing from one obligation to another, you start noticing the small moments more. A quiet sunrise. A friendly conversation with someone you just met. Sitting outside the RV while Bella watches the world go by.

Those simple moments often end up being the ones that matter most.

Next Adventure

Bella and I still have many miles ahead of us and plenty of places left to explore.

Part of the joy of this journey is not having a strict schedule. Sometimes the best stops are the ones we never planned. I’ll share more stories and photos from the road in the next update.

Until then, I hope life is treating you well.

Warmly,

Rolando Chang Barrero
