It's a (Blue) Wrap!
On May 16th, the place to be was the Blue Wrap Runway fashion show, a fundraiser to support Partners for World Health (PWH). Dozens of designers, from Maine, New York, and beyond, created unique fashions from blue wrap--the material that hospitals use to wrap surgical instruments, just one of the many surplus medical supplies that PWH collects and distributes to those in need around the globe

The show, held at USM's Hannaford Hall, exceeded  expectations, raising more than $100,000  to support PWH's shipments of supplies,  and medical missions to foreign countries.
Burgess has been wrapped up in this event for nearly a year. We created the logo, letterhead, signage, ads, posters, and program book--whew! It all came together at the Blue Wrap Runway event, and we are proud to have been a part of this signature occasion. For more information or to support PWH, visit PartnersForWorldHealth.org .

The new Burgess
website is live!
We're excited to have our brand new website up and running! It's been in the works for many months (because our clients have kept us wonderfully busy), but it's up to date and (we think) out of sight.
You can read about Meredith's recent selection as one of Maine Seniors magazine's "women of Influence," check out a dozen client stories  from the past few years, and have a chuckle at old photos in our history timeline. Maybe the best thing about the website overhaul was that our whole team was energized by the process of presenting our distinctive, effective approach.

Any good website is a work in perpetual process, so take a look now  and stay tuned for more coming soon!
Helping Dielectric NAB the Spotlight in Vegas
One of the most exciting trade shows of the year takes place in Las Vegas each April: the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). (Yes, broadcasting is alive and well despite all the competing modes of media access today). And our booth for Dielectric, a client for more than 20 years, was one of the most exciting at the show.
Dielectric is a global leader in manufacturing radio and television antennas--a product in especially high demand during the FCC's current TV channel "repack" process. We created a multi-platform booth and handouts for the NAB trade show that heralded Dielectric as America's Repack Leader, while helping to launch an innovative new transmission line monitoring system.
helping businesses and other organizations
in northern New England grow for over 32 years.
We strive to capture the essence of each client's brand and promote it across the entire marketing spectrum--digital and otherwise--to give
your brand its best shot at positive ROI.

Going LIVE!
Dear Clients & Friends,

I'm excited to invite you to check out...(drumroll)...our redesigned website, which is now LIVE! I'm a little embarrassed to hog the home page with my feature article in Maine Seniors magazine (how do I even qualify for that??!), which I'm honored to share with Maine's first female Governor, Janet Mills. Rest assured that we'll soon switch to a different home page header, so check it out now at burgessadv.com and let us know what you think!
The 12 th  annual Tri for a Cure is on July 14th, just a few weeks away. Please consider donating to our Account Manager,  Julie Salvato,   me   or one of the other 1,298 women who will swim, bike and run to support the fight against cancer in Maine. Volunteers are still needed, too--a great way to be a part of this exciting event. All the info is at  TriForACure.org .
Julie (at right) is looking to better her 2013 time; Meredith (wearing medals from each year since the event began in 2008) will again bring up the rear, so no one else has to!
Finally, I thank all of our clients for your support, and wish everyone a great summer. We may try to sneak in some outdoor time over the next few months, but will always ensure that our clients' needs are met, no matter how good the weather!
Awards of Excellence & Distinction
For 25 years, the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts has hosted the Communicator Awards, honoring excellence in marketing and communications. This year's awards drew more than 6,000 entries, and we're proud to say two of the winners were ours:
  • An Excellence award for our "Finally" Integrated Campaign/Business-to-Consumer for Central Maine Healthcare (CMH). We created TV, print, digital and radio ads, plus special events, to launch CMH's innovative new Topsham Care Center.
  • A Distinction award for our "MVP" TV spot for New England Cancer Specialists, in the Film/Video/Health and Wellness category.
The Bells are Ringing
Our Chief Financial Officer,
Tammy White, was recently married to John Dickinson, and our entire team came out to celebrate with her. 'Twas a lovely wedding, at The Woodlands in Falmouth. Elegant bride, dashing groom, sunshine and music and happiness all around. Tammy and JD are a picture-perfect couple.

One more thing: the ceremony was led by John Cena, Sr.,
aka "Johnny Fabulous ." Ex-wrestling promoter, father of a noted celebrity, wisecracker extraordinaire. If you want a wedding that is truly memorable, with one-liners that will have everyone laughing, he's the guy.
