A peek inside the classroom: Writing with Madison College!

Students and Madison College tutors working together

Many Literacy Network Transitions Program students want to improve their writing skills so that they can better pursue their career goals.

This November, tutors from Madison College's Writing Center led a writing workshop for the Transitions class. Students worked with tutors to analyze a job posting and prepare a cover letter for that position.

Thank you, Madison College, for this helpful, hands-on workshop and for your ongoing partnership to help students reach their goals!

Citizenship celebrations

New citizen Regina with her instructors and classmates

We love to celebrate when students become citizens! Each time a citizenship student passes their citizenship test, they are invited back to class to share their experience with their classmates. This gives the class a chance to honor the student, as well as helps to prepare other students who are still studying for what to expect during the interview.

In this photo, new citizen Regina (center, with flag) celebrates her success with tutors and classmates. To date, 33 Literacy Network students have gained citizenship in 2022.

Thank you for making GivingTuesday 2022 a success!

Students with flags. Thank you for supporting our neighbors from around the world this GivingTuesday.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make 2022's GivingTuesday a success! We loved celebrating students, our neighbors from around the world, this special day! We received over $18,000 in donations from 79 donors, including matching gifts from Tana Elias and Andrew Clarkowski, as well as from an anonymous donor.

There's still time to support students!
