AUDUBON CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT (CBC)

Saturday, December 16, 2023

The Wyncote Audubon Society conducts one of the oldest CBCs in the country! We traditionally schedule our count during the first Saturday of the two week count window established by the National Audubon Society. This year our CBC is scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2023. We cover selected areas within a 7.5-mile radius of the Griscom Observatory at the Briar Bush Nature Center. Wyncote traditionally schedules its count on the first Saturday of the CBC “window.” There are “team captains” assigned with their team members to cover designated areas of the count circle. Participants from past years can expect to be contacted by their “team captain.” If you are new to the CBC and interested in participation, contact Kristy Morely, kristy@wissahickontrails.org, Wyncote’s CBC Coordinator.

Come see some of the fall migrants that Continue to pass through our area. There also is a chance to see some of our early returning winter resident bird species. No preregistration is required.

Fall 2023 NATURALLY

The Wyncote Audubon Society publishes an annual newsletter, the Naturally. The Fall 2023 edition of the Naturally was mailed earlier this month. The newsletter is mailed to each member on the National Audubon Society mailing list for our “chapter territory. The nearly 3000 addresses include are members from South Philadelphia to Green Lane Montgomery County. Wyncote Audubon does not maintain a separate or independent mailing list – only the one provided to us by National Audubon.

Wyncote Audubon does maintain a digital list of individuals who provide us with their email addresses through registering at our outreach and tabling events, or by registering “on-line” through our website. It is this list through which we distribute our monthly digital UPDATES via Constant Contact. We do note that many individuals on our digital distribution list may not have received the mailed edition of the Fall 2023 edition of the Naturally. Attached via a link below is the digital version of the Naturally for any of you who had note received it via the mail. Please enjoy the informative articles and updates included in this edition of the Naturally!
