MARCH MONTHLY PROGRAM

A Journey in Biodiversity
How do you take a tangled mess of a backyard and turn it into a wildlife oasis?
Join native gardening geek, Katie Fisk, and learn why native gardening is so important now more than ever, her journey of the bumps and successes she's had along the way, and how you can begin your own native gardening journey no matter where you live. Katie Fisk has been an environmental educator and animal curator at Briar Bush Nature Center in Abington for 14 years. She loves connecting people of all ages to nature and helping them make new discoveries about the world around them. At home, her greatest passion is working in her native garden and observing all the birds, bugs, and flowers it supports. This event is both in person at the Upper Dublin Public Library and virtual. Once you have registered, you will receive the Zoom link.

BIRD SAFE PHILLY
Volunteers Needed for Spring Migration 2024
Members of Wyncote Audubon have been important to the successful launch of “Lights Out” and “Bird Safe Philly” that now enters its fourth year. We look to expand our efforts in the coming year. Bird Safe Philly is gearing up to be ready for Spring Migration for 2024 and we need VOLUNTEERS! Volunteers are needed from April 15, 2024 through May 31, 2024.
- We need folks willing to give one morning a week at 8:00 AM to transport injured birds, as needed, from center city to the SCEE Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic.
- We also need individuals willing to monitor a walking route from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM one day a week to collect, document, and transport birds that have perished due to collisions with center city buildings. These casualties are collected by the Academy of Natural Sciences where they are used in ongoing avian research.
To volunteer or learn more details about these opportunities contact us at wyncoteaudubonsociety@gmail.com. More details about these opportunities are also available at https://www.birdsafephilly.org.
