FIELD TRIPS
A Note About Our Field Trips: We encourage participants to regularly check both the Wyncote Audubon Society website and Facebook page in advance of a field trip as the meeting location can change due to road construction, a park closure, weather conditions, or other last-minute reasons. If you have any questions about a field trip, please contact: wyncotefieldtrips@gmail.com. Plan to arrive a few minutes before the scheduled time of the field trip. The time stated is the STARTING time, not the arrival time. This will give you time to get yourself ready, say hello, visit a restroom, and be ready to go. For all-day trips, please come prepared with lunch and have a full tank of gas. It is important to preregister for our field trips so our leaders can better plan the trip and communicate any important last minute changes to participants in advance of the trip.
Preregister for each field trip in which you wish to participate listed in the events calendar at wymcoteaudubon.org.
Participant Release: Your decision to participate in an Audubon field trip or event signifies that you agree to not hold the Wyncote Audubon Society or any of its agents responsible for any accidents, losses, damages, or injuries resulting from your participation in the field trip or event.

WYNCOTE AUDUBON ON-LINE AUCTION
Lela Stanley, a member of Wyncote Audubon’s Bird Safe Philly Committee, is taking the lead to create an “on-line auction” for Wyncote Audubon to raise funds to support the work of our committee for projects that address the mitigation of bird collisions that we promote on behalf of Bird Safe Philly. New research has shown that window collisions may kill up a billion birds every year in the United States alone. Bird Safe Philly's critical work is helping to address this emergency in our area by signing up buildings to our migration-season Lights Out pledge; installing bird-safe glass treatments at schools, nature centers, and local businesses; and rescuing individual birds after window strikes.
This fall, Wyncote Audubon Society is launching its first-ever auction to support Bird Safe Philly's essential work! We're raising funds to pay for these programs and, along the way, showcasing local artists' creations. You can be part of this by participating in the auction, as a donor, a bidder, or both.
What you can do:
Donate to the auction: Many of our items have been generously donated by members of the Wyncote Audubon and Philly-area birding communities. Art, collectors' items, the gift of your time or expertise - every donation is very welcome and will help protect migrating birds on their journey through our area. Please contact Lela Stanley at lelastanley@gmail.com if you would like to make a donation.
Bid on items: The auction will open for bids on October 1 and run until early December. Get a sneak peek at early items here: https://new.biddingowl.com/birdsafephilly. Keep checking back as more items will be added as they are donated!
Thank you for your support for this critical work keeping migrating birds safe! Bird Safe Philly's work depends on our community and we are so grateful to everyone who has played a part in it.

LORIMER PARK
Provide Input for the Lorimer Park Master Plan
Montgomery County is in the process of developing a plan to guide the future of Lorimer Park. Lorimer Park is a vital link in the Pennypack watershed between the Pennypack Park in Philadelphia and the land protected by the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust. The National Audubon Society has designated Lorimer Park as part of an Important Bird Area, a system created by Bird Life International. It is a critical stopover area for migrating birds in the spring and fall and an important breeding area for critical species like the Wood Thrush and Scarlet Tanager. Jennifer Sherwood conducts a monthly walk at Lorimer for the Abington Bird Town. To provided input please go to:
