BELLE CHASSE, LA. - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project announces the following traffic shift scheduled for overnight Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025.
Sunday 9/7 (Night)
- Northbound alternating single lanes (left lane and right lane) from Dale Street to L Street. Between 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 and 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8. X Street Ramp and X Street will open to traffic and the Engineers Road left turn onto LA23 will be closed (replaced by X Street and X Street Ramp).
The project team will keep the public updated with weekly lane closure notices (subject to change if scheduled work is impacted by delays such as weather, scheduling, etc.).
This coincides with continued work throughout LA23 and adjacent roads for X Street Ramp and associated work including LA23 medians and Engineers Road island for final configuration. Traffic will be redirected into the final configuration after the current phasing and is subject to change if/when the final traffic switch occurs before this period expires.
