Dress Code for Brophy's Prom

  • Gentlemen must wear either a traditional style tuxedo or a formal suit with a tie.
  • Ladies must wear dresses that are appropriately formal and ankle/floor length.

The following are not allowed for female guests:

  • The asymmetrical hemlines; high-low hemlines
  • any dress/skirt that is not floor length (to/below the ankle) in front, back, and both sides
  • any dress/skirt that has a slit(s) must be no shorter than finger length above the knee
  • shorts or short skirts covered by an overlay (regardless of length) made of sheer or any see-through material
  • any clothing that reveals a student’s midriff
  • any dress or top with the sides cut out
  • immodestly low-cut dresses or blouses (front, back, sides)
  • anything ragged ripped or rugged-looking

This list does not cover all the possibilities of what is not allowed.  Students should know Brophy’s standards and should use good judgment in what they and their guests wear to the event.

Dress in a way that shows pride in yourself and respect for the event—it’s prom, after all.
