XJA Students Embrace Teamwork and Adventure
at Camp Joy |
This fall, Xavier Jesuit Academy students had the incredible opportunity to experience outdoor learning at Camp Joy, a transformative experience made possible by the generous support of our donors, especially the parishioners from Saint Francis Xavier Church and Camp Joy Development Office.
"The camp gave our students countless opportunities to build teamwork, leadership, and friendships through various activities," said Mr. Michael Gong, XJA’s Lead Teacher. "For many, it was their first time at an outdoor camp—a milestone moment filled with excitement and growth. The fifth graders even spent the night, marking their first experience away from home, fostering resilience and independence."
For Tomás, a third-grader, one of the highlights was an exciting game of “capture the water bottle,” which taught the importance of teamwork and quick thinking. Fifth-grader Easton’s favorite part was the ropes course, where he and his classmates encouraged each other to push through their fears. “If someone was scared, others would cheer them on,” he said, showing the strong sense of community and support among our students.
“We appreciate the donors who made the Camp Joy experience possible for our students this year,” Mr. Gong emphasized. Experiences like these are invaluable in helping our young men grow as “Men for Others,” shaping them into leaders, explorers, and confident members of their community. Thank you for making a difference!

Exciting New Partnerships!
Xavier Jesuit Academy is proud to announce two impactful partnerships to enhance our students' educational and personal growth experiences. Through collaborations with the Joe Burrow Foundation and OptimAll Services, we’re bringing fresh resources and specialized support to our school community, ensuring every student has access to essential learning and development opportunities.
Power of Produce Program with the Joe Burrow Foundation
In partnership with the Joe Burrow Foundation, we introduced the Power of Produce Program to bring fresh, nutritious produce into our students’ lives each week. Through this program, each student will take home a bag of produce every Wednesday or Thursday, giving families access to fresh fruits and vegetables that encourage healthy eating habits. The Power of Produce Program is designed to teach children about nutrition through hands-on learning, connecting them with local markets, exploring the benefits of fresh produce, and even learning the basics of preparing fruits and vegetables. We are grateful to the Joe Burrow Foundation for helping us make healthy eating an accessible and enjoyable part of our students’ lives.
Special Education Support through OptimAll Services
Our partnership with OptimAll Services brings a new level of support to meet the individual learning needs of all students at Xavier Jesuit Academy. OptimAll Services is a nonprofit that assists nonpublic schools in Cincinnati with comprehensive special education programs. Through this collaboration, XJA offers Individualized Education Plan (IEP) services, remedial academic support, and assessments for students who need to meet benchmarks. Additionally, the partnership provides access to an Intervention Assistance Team and coaching for general educators, ensuring every student has a pathway to success. These services support diverse learning styles and needs within our school community.
These partnerships with the Joe Burrow Foundation and OptimAll Services are invaluable in advancing our mission to form young men as "Men for Others." We’re grateful for the opportunity to provide these enriching experiences and specialized support, helping each student grow academically, physically, and emotionally. Thank you to our partners for their commitment to the students of Xavier Jesuit Academy!

GET INVOLVED:
Xavier SGO and Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024
|
"I’m very grateful for the support of so many across Cincinnati and beyond who have been involved in the startup of Xavier Jesuit Academy. Now that we’ve reached this point of having a full school of students in grades three, four, and five—and continuing to expand next year—we still face the challenge of growing our school and getting better at everything we do. Continued support is essential as we meet these challenges: providing for our students, covering the cost of education, maintaining our beautiful campus, and ensuring an environment that best supports the growth and success of our students."
As Fr. Nathan Wendt, S.J., President, shared in his message, the journey of founding a Jesuit school in Cincinnati has been a community-wide effort, driven by the belief in the power of a Jesuit-based education to transform young lives. While our effort to increase participation through the Xavier Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) Ohio tax-credit offering is still underway, we join the global community this Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, to celebrate and support causes that make a difference.
This year’s Giving Tuesday is especially meaningful as it coincides with the Feast of Saint Francis Xavier, our patron saint. Inspired by his dedication to service and education, we invite you to support our mission of building "Men for Others."
Your contribution will have a tangible impact on XJA. Every donation helps us meet essential needs, from the cost of education and classroom supplies to after-school programs, meal support, and the upkeep of our facilities. Each gift supports the environment where our students learn, grow, and strive to reach their potential.
This Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, we aim to grow our monthly donor community. Whether you can give $5 or $100, your commitment fuels our mission. Join us in shaping the future of young men in Cincinnati by supporting Xavier Jesuit Academy. Together, we are building a brighter tomorrow.
