The Feast of St. Francis Xavier
On Friday, as is our middle school tradition, the Feast of St. Francis Xavier was a special day of learning, service, and celebration. Deacon Lincoln taught us about the life and lessons of our wonderful patron saint. Deacon then joined Father Adam and we celebrated Mass. Building on the lesson of doing for others, the 7th and 8th graders boarded buses or walked to nearby locations to do service off-site. They helped at 15 different sites; everything from Christmas decorating at Pillars, to helping students at the elementary schools, to cleaning at St. Therese, etc. The 5th and 6th students did service on-site. They cleaned under the bleachers, made cards, tied blankets, spruced up the walls, etc. Then the whole school joined together for a Kahoot! game quizzing the students on St. Francis Xavier in a fun way. The day ended in KIDS group with a discussion and decorating a prayer card of St. Francis Xavier. Thank you to Amy Krull and the Feast Day Committee for organizing this event! We are blessed to be part of the St. Francis Xavier community.
